On the Verge of Bubble Zamani Pulls out "Poker Face"
Level 14
: Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Jonathan Phelps of Team Phelps was deciding whether to call the all-in of Martin Zamani of Team Zamani, who had four-bet moved all in from under the gun for 117,500. Phelps was in the cutoff and had the dominant stack by a small amount, but the bubble was looming.
Zamani stated, "Poker face, poker face". Phelps took his time to decide and discussed Zamani's past bets and holdings.
The Tournament Director walked by, and Zamani stated, "Can you believe it's me who is all in on the bubble?"
The Director stated, "Out of all the people here, I knew it would be you".
Phelps decided Zamani looked way too relaxed, and they made an agreement to fold face up,
Zamani held A♦Q♠ and Phelps folded A♣K♠, so the poker face was a success.
