Patni's pair of eights was not good enough on the flop and wouldn't be good enough in the end with the turn and river of K♣5♠ bringing no help. Ilani's aces took down the hand.

The alleged chip dumping scandal that occurred earlier this week in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Millionaire Maker event may have seemed egregious to many poker pros. But the players involved, if they did indeed collude, didn't make it nearly as obvious as the heads-up foes in a 2018 World Poker Tour (WPT) event.

Jesse Yaginuma won the $1,500 Milly Maker on Wednesday for over $1.2 million and an extra $1 million via a promotion from ClubWPT Gold. The bracelet is on hold as the WSOP investigates possible collusion during heads-up play against James Carroll, the runner-up who is to earn $1,012,320.

Ren Lin raised to 1,600,000 under the gun and Ran Ilani three-bet to 5,800,000 in the small blind. Action folded back around to Lin who thought for a moment before tossing his cards into the muck.

The next hand, Ilani raised to 1,600,000 on the button and Lin defended in the big blind.

The flop of 9♥2♠8♠ checked through, as did the K♦ turn. On the 8♦ river, Lin fired out a bet of 3,500,000 and Ilani folded.

After some consideration, Ran Ilani made the call from the button. The others at the table folded.

The next hand, Ren Lin raised to 2,200,000 on the button and Yilong Wang three-bet to 6,000,000 in the big blind.

Lin thought for a moment before tossing his cards into the muck.
