In the 902nd episode of the PokerNews Podcast, Chad Holloway and Mike Holtz do an emergency show to discuss the industry-shaking collusion controversy that stemmed from the heads-up match between Jesse Yaginuma and James Carroll in the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Millionaire Maker. Not only were seven-figure prizes up for grabs, but there was also a $1,000,000 bonus if Yaginuma were to win thanks to an outside promotion.

That fact made a big impact on what allegedly went down. Find out what happened, what fans and players are saying, and whether or not ClubWPT Gold will award the $1,000,000 bonus. Also, the WSOP did issue a statement and has yet to finalize the results of the tournament. What might happen next is anyone's guess, but Chad and Mike discuss some potential scenarios.

Govert Metaal raised to 50,000 from early position which saw Fabian Niederreiter call on the button and Steven Jones defended his big blind.

The flop rolled out 4♣7♥7♦ and Jones checked over to Metaal who bet 55,000 and received two calls.

Jones lead out for 180,000 on the turn 5♦ and only Niederreiter called.

On the river 2♠, Jones moved all in for 485,000 effective and Niederreiter went into the tank. After some thought, he tossed his hand into the muck.

"Show it," said table-mate Upeshka De Silva and Jones obliged, turning over J♣4♠.

Niederreiter stood out of his chair, frustrated by the situation while the 2023 WSOP Main Event runner up took down the pot.

Cukrowicz Picks Off the Bluff

Action picked up on the river with Ilan Cukrowicz in the tank facing an all in from Luigi Soncin.

With over 500,000 in the middle and the board reading 5♠J♠J♣10♦3♣, the under-the-gun Cukrowicz had checked and Luigi Soncin in the hijack had moved all in for 660,000 to put himself at risk.

Eventually, Cukrowicz flicked in the call and tabled A♣10♠ for two pair, jacks and tens with an ace kicker, besting the K♠Q♠ of Soncin.
