Sewards Takes From Castro

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Action was picked up on a 26J flop. Harvey Castro checked from the big blind, Nicholas Seward bet 3,000 from under the gun, and Castro called.

The turn card was the Q, Castro checked again, and this time Seward 11,500, which got Castro to toss his cards into the muck.

Kabrhel Chips Up with “Biggest Pot of the Tournament

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Martin Kabrhel

With around 6,200 already in the middle and the board showing A29, Martin Kabrhel led out from the big blind with a bet of 2,000. Robertus Hollink, seated on the button, made the call to see the turn.

The 4 landed next, and Kabrhel kept the pressure on with a bet of 4,000. Hollink called again without hesitation.

Both players checked the 5 river, and the cards went on their backs. Kabrhel revealed A7 for top pair, while Hollink showed 96 for a pair of nines.

Kabrhel grinned as he dragged in the pot and commented, “The biggest pot of the tournament.”

Today will see the start of Event #72: $10,000 Super Turbo Bounty No-Limit Hold'em at noon local time here at Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas with starting stacks of 60,000 chips.

This is a one-day event with the blinds starting at 100/200/200 and 20-minute levels throughout. A 15-minute break will occur after every six levels (or as needed for color-ups). Dinner break is scheduled after Level 21 at around 7:45 p.m.

Players will receive $3,000 from the prize pool for every player they eliminate, and can redeem bounties after 7 p.m. This event is played eight-handed. Registration remains open until the start of Level 13 (≈ 4:30 p.m.) and players are allowed only one reentry.

Although scheduled as a one-day event, last year a second day was necessary for the final table to play out.
Frank Funaro came out on top of the field of 486 entrants and is the defending champion. He won his second bracelet and $612,997, not including bounties.
