Boyko Out Before Bagging

On the rail end of the 8♦2♠2♣K♣5♣ board, Yuriy Boyko had checked and Kurstis Tinfow jammed for 57,000. Deep in the tank, the clock was called on Boyko and he eventually called within the 30 second countdown.

Tinfow tabled the A♥5♦4♦2♥ for a full house and Boyko's A♦J♥J♣7♥ were briefly exposed. Boyko had 2,000 chips left, won the next all-in but busted in the final hand of the night.

Shrey Maheshwary made it 5,500 from middle position with Eric Cloutier calling from the next seat. Philip Shing three-bet to 25,000 from the button before Maheshwary potted it back with the covering stack. Cloutier frustratingly folded, but Shing called for his last 35,000.

Over on table 95, another player was eliminated right before the floor staff announced the final hands for the night and than happened to be Matthew Smith.

"What happened?" Eric Wang asked and Amir Sahebdivani replied "bet, bet, bet" while nodding towards Alejandro Jauregui. The K♥J♦3♦4♣A♥ board had seen the larger stack barrel with Q♦J♣10♦10♠ for the straight and flush draw which made broadway. Smith called down with the K♠K♣10♣8♣ for a set of kings to hit the rail.

Godena Surges Late on Day 1

Ioannis Angelou Konstas was spotted chatting with Nikolaos Lampropoulos one table over and his former seat had no more chips left. He confirmed that Jarryd Godena scored the knockout, who then took on Alejandro Jauregui. In three-way action to the K♥5♣2♣ flop, Jauregui bet 10,000 and Godena was the only caller.

They checked the 9♦ turn and Jauregui also checked the A♠ on the river. Godena bet 20,000 and won the pot without showdown.

The cards were already flipped over by the time the live reporting team arrived and Richard Lee was at risk against Dennis Weiss. By the time the board showed Q♦9♠2♥7♠ on the turn, both players had straight draws but Weiss also held an overpair as well as a flush draw to be firm favourite.

Eddie Ochana jammed for his last 6,000 from the small blind on a flop of J♠6♥A♠. Stephen Chidwick called from the big blind before Eemil Tuominen raised the pot to 47,500. Chidwick thought for a while, and then jammed to put Tuominen all in for his remaining 40,000. Tuominen called.

Le has won this Championship Event two times already but won't be adding a third title in 2025, while his brother Allan Le has an above-average stack in the penultimate level of the night.
