Boyko Out Before Bagging

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

On the rail end of the 822K5 board, Yuriy Boyko had checked and Kurstis Tinfow jammed for 57,000. Deep in the tank, the clock was called on Boyko and he eventually called within the 30 second countdown.

Tinfow tabled the A542 for a full house and Boyko's AJJ7 were briefly exposed. Boyko had 2,000 chips left, won the next all-in but busted in the final hand of the night.

Shing Busts at the End of the Night

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Shrey Maheshwary made it 5,500 from middle position with Eric Cloutier calling from the next seat. Philip Shing three-bet to 25,000 from the button before Maheshwary potted it back with the covering stack. Cloutier frustratingly folded, but Shing called for his last 35,000.

Philip Shing: AKK6 All in
Shrey Maheshwary: AA107

Maheshwary had aces against the kings of Shing. The board ran out 92388, keeping Maheshwary's aces in the lead the whole way. The pot was pushed to Maheshwary, and Shing was out.

Smith Eliminated by Jauregui

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Over on table 95, another player was eliminated right before the floor staff announced the final hands for the night and than happened to be Matthew Smith.

"What happened?" Eric Wang asked and Amir Sahebdivani replied "bet, bet, bet" while nodding towards Alejandro Jauregui. The KJ34A board had seen the larger stack barrel with QJ1010 for the straight and flush draw which made broadway. Smith called down with the KK108 for a set of kings to hit the rail.

Godena Surges Late on Day 1

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Ioannis Angelou Konstas was spotted chatting with Nikolaos Lampropoulos one table over and his former seat had no more chips left. He confirmed that Jarryd Godena scored the knockout, who then took on Alejandro Jauregui. In three-way action to the K52 flop, Jauregui bet 10,000 and Godena was the only caller.

They checked the 9 turn and Jauregui also checked the A on the river. Godena bet 20,000 and won the pot without showdown.

Chidwick Showers Two Opponents

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Stephen Chidwick

Eddie Ochana jammed for his last 6,000 from the small blind on a flop of J6A. Stephen Chidwick called from the big blind before Eemil Tuominen raised the pot to 47,500. Chidwick thought for a while, and then jammed to put Tuominen all in for his remaining 40,000. Tuominen called.

Eddie Ochana: A1082 All in
Eemil Tuominen: AKQ5 All in
Stephen Chidwick: QJJ9

Chidwick had a set, Ochana just had top pair, while Tuominen had straight and flush possibilities. The 9 gave Ochana some extra outs, but the K river was clean for Chidwick's set. Chidwick sent two players home and added a lot of chips to his stack.

Le Eliminated by Barbero

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Nacho Barbero
Nacho Barbero

Tommy Le got his shorter stack into the middle on the flop of J95 and was called by Nacho Barbero with the covering stack.

Tommy Le: KK74 All in
Nacho Barbero: KQJ6

While being ahead with his overpair, Le had to dodge a lot of outs as Barbero had a pair, flush draw and gutshot. Nothing changed on the A turn just yet but the 10 river gave Barbero broadway. Le has won this Championship Event two times already but won't be adding a third title in 2025, while his brother Allan Le has an above-average stack in the penultimate level of the night.
