Francort Gets the Best of Zhou in Battle of the Blinds

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Quan Zhou called from the small blind and Javier Francort checked his option in the big blind.

Francort called a 230,000 bet from Zhou on the 273 flop and then raised a 330,000 bet from Zhou to 900,000 on the 2 turn.

Zhou thought it over, but landed on a fold — conceding the pot to Francort.

Updated Counts Table Two

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Isaac Kempton limped in and then called when Sean Rafael raised the pot to 360,000 from the big blind. The flop came QQ3 and Kempton check-folded to a bet worth 260,000.

Kempton then potted from the button and won the pot uncontested.

Rafael limped in the cutoff soon after and Michael Zulker checked. On the J109 flop, Zulker checked before folding to a bet worth 210,000 by Rafael.

Kempton made it 300,000 to go first to act soon after that and was called only by Michael Wang from the big blind. They checked the QJ5 flop and Wang potted the 2 turn for 780,000 to force out Kempton.

Foxen Doubles in Record Speed

Level 29 : Blinds 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante
Alex Foxen
Alex Foxen

Alex Foxen raised to 560,000 on the button and Erik Seidel called from the big blind. The flop came J43 and Foxen continued with a pot-sized bet of 1,360,000. Seidel quickly check-raised all in and Foxen instantly called off his stack of 1,895,000. The chips went in the middle faster than any hand that was played in the entire last level.

Alex Foxen: AJJ3All in
Erik Seidel: QQ43

Foxen flopped a set of jacks up against the two pair of Seidel. The 3 on the turn changed nothing as Foxen was holding the case three in his hand. The K hit the river and Foxen doubled up with the larger of the two full houses.

Level 29 : Blinds 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

After blinding down for a couple of orbits, a short-stacked Erik Seidel shoved for a bit over 400,000 from the button and was called by Quan Zhou in the big blind to be put at risk.

Erik Seidel: AJ72All in
Quan Zhou: QJ96

The board ran out 2A3102 — leaving Seidel best with a full house for the double up.

Isaac Kempton

Michael Wang opened to 400,000 from under the gun and Isaac Kempton potted to 1,440,000 from the cutoff. Wang moved all in and Kempton called with his remaining stack of roughly 500,000, putting himself at risk.

Michael Wang: AAK10

Kempton rivered the case king on the QA54K runout but it was no good as Wang had flopped top set to eliminate Kempton and extend his lead over the rest of the field.

More Chips for Wang

Level 29 : Blinds 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

The action folded around to Michael Zulker in the small blind who just limped in. Michael Wang raised to 480,000 in the big blind and Zulker called. The flop came 952 and Zulker check-folded to a bet of 550,000 from Wang.

On the next hand, Wang limped in from the small blind and Simeon Tsonev made it 480,000 in the big blind. Wang called and the dealer fanned a similar flop of J52. Both players checked and the 7 landed on the turn.

Wang checked again and Tsonev dropped in a bet of 300,000. Wang called and the A completed the board. Both players tapped the table again and Wang turned over 10822 for a set of deuces and the best hand.

Erik Seidel

Erik Seidel opened to 560,000 from early position and Quan Zhou defended from the big blind.

The flop came 793 and Zhou shoved. Seidel had around 400,000 behind and called, putting himself at risk.

Erik Seidel: AA102 All in
Quan Zhou: QQ94

Seidel was ahead with the better overpair and the K turn changed nothing for either player. The Q river gave Zhou a set of queens to send the Poker Hall of Famer to the rail and win the hand.
