You Won't Like Deeb When He's Angry

Level 12
Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb

Pot Limit Omaha

Shaun Deeb opened to 5,000 from the hijack. Zachary Reinbold and Jake Schwartz called from the button and big blind.

The 985 flop checked through to the 9 turn. Schwartz checked, Deeb bet 6,500 and Reinbold was the only caller.

Deeb fired out another 16,500 on the 3 river, with Reibold then potting it to 80,500.

"Trying to out play in me in every game? Or do you just have it?" groaned Deeb as he mulled over his options. After some thinking time, he let his hand go.

Reinbold looked like he was going to show his hand but Schwartz implored him not to.

"We can't have him play angry for the last 15 minutes," said Schwartz, to which Deeb indicated he was getting there.

"There's steam coming out of his ears," joked Schwartz as the next hand was dealt.

Deeb With the... Slowroll?

Level 12
Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb

5 Card Draw

Action was picked up on the first draw after Shaun Deeb had opened in the cutoff, Andrew "AJ" Kelsall called on the button, and Peter Levine called in the big blind.

Levine and Deeb drew three while Kelsall drew one. Action checked around to Kelsall who moved all in for 28,500, quickly folding out Levine and Deeb went into the tank.

"This could be a slowroll," Deeb said after some time in the tank.

"It won't phase me," replied Kelsall, "you slowrolled me the day we met years ago and since then you've done it to me a couple of times. It hasn't phased me."

After some more time in the tank, Deeb put in the call and the hands were tabled.

Shaun Deeb: QQQ106

Deeb's table began laughing as he took in the pot while Kelsall was eliminated from the tournament.

Brown’s Game Mix-Up Causes Calamity on #64; Stavrakis Literally Flips a Coin

Level 11
Tyler Brown
Tyler Brown

Big O

Gabriel Ramos opened to 4,000 from under the gun, before Tyler Brown made it 14,500 from the hijack, and had 5,500 behind. Filippos Stavrakis four-bet to 30,000 from the cutoff. The button and small blind folded and then Christopher Vitch made potted it to 109,200.

Ramos went deep into the tank, and after a few minutes — and a clock being called — he eventually folded.

Brown put in his last few chips, with Stavrakis then finding himself in the blender. He thought for several minutes, before calling, which left him with around 98,000 behind.

Vitch jammed on the JJ7 flop, and Stavrakis found himself again in another tough spot. He thought for several minutes more, and decided his fate rested on the flip of a coin. He asked if anyone at the table had one, and Eric Garma reached into his wallet to hand one over.

He flicked it onto the table, and then folded.

Vitch and Brown tabled their cards.

Tyler Brown: 96443 All in
Christopher Vitch: AA852

At this point, Brown admitted he thought they were still playing Pot Limit 2-7 Triple Draw, not realizing the game plaque had changed.

The board ran out with the 32 and Vitch scooped the massive pot to be one of the biggest stacks in the room. Vitch took the high with aces and the low with 7-5-3-2-A.

"Wow, can you believe that cost me 109K!" bemoaned Stavrakis, as the hand would've played out much differently had Brown realized what game they were playing.

"Thank God, the coin landed on a fold."

Stavrakis explained that he was taking so long because he had A-K-K, was double suited and thought that it would be hard for Vitch to have aces due to Ramos' open and Brown's three-bet.

Vitch agreed the action was sick, but it benefitted him with his stack sitting around 450,000.
