Bujtas Gets Shorter

Level 10 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Yosuke Miki raised to 55,000 and Laszlo Bujtas defended out of the big blind. They checked the 1087 flop before Bujtas bet the 2 turn for 50,000, Miki called. Both checked again the K river and Bujtas already declared "you win" before rolling over the Q642.

The pair of deuced was indeed not good enough to win the pot as Miki had the superior AA63.

Chen Double Barrels

Level 10 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

James Chen made it 50,000 to go from the hijack and only [Removed:548] called from the button.

The dealer spread out the flop of KQJ and Chen bet 40,000. [Removed:549] stuck around with a call.

The 7 fell on the turn and Chen bet again, this time for 125,000. This was enough to get [Removed:549] to fold, and surrender the pot to Chen.

Lehmanski Scores Double Knockout

Level 10 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Maxi Lehmanski
Maxi Lehmanski

Biao Ding limped in, and Maxi Lehmanski raised the pot behind him to 90,000. Ben Tollerene called for his remaining 55,000 next to act, and Ding called as well.

The flop came J76. Ding checked, and Lehmanski bet enough to put Ding all in. Ding made the call.

Ben Tollerene: QQ63 All in
Biao Ding: J1088 All in
Maxi Lehmanski: KKJ9

The turn was the 2 and the river was the 7, so Lehmanski took the entire pot and busted both of his opponents.

Boat Over Boat Debacle for Cowen

Level 10 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Robert Cowen
Robert Cowen

Without any major action until the A8455 river, Robert Cowen bet 255,000 out of the big blind. Arthur Morris then raised the pot from under the gun and Cowen used two time bank extensions. He eventually called and was shown the AAQ5 for aces full of fives and mucked his 1088Xx for an inferior eights full.

Negreanu Turns a Boat to Score a Huge Double

Level 10 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Jonas Kronwitter made it 70,000 from the hijack and Daniel Negreanu called from the cutoff. Laszlo Bujtas squeezed to 300,000 from the small blind, which only Negreanu called.

Heads-up to the 446 flop, where Bujtas put out a continuation-bet of 180,000. Negreanu quickly called.

Upon seeing the 9 roll off on the turn, Bujtas bet the pot, which was enough to put Negreanu all in for his remaining 930,000. Negreanu beat Bujtas into the pot, and the cards were turned over with Negreanu at risk.

Daniel Negreanu: 10998 All in
Laszlo Bujtas: AA32

Negreanu had turned a miracle nine to give him the nut boat, and only an ace on the river could eliminate him. The 4 dropped on the river, meaning Negreanu was awarded the pot and moved up to nearly three million chips.

Bleznick and Sternheimer Bust in Three-Way All In

Level 10 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Laszlo Bujtas
Laszlo Bujtas

Philip Sternheimer raised in early position to 70,000. Jared Bleznick called in the small blind, before Laszlo Bujtas repotted from the big blind. Sternheimer went all in, and both Bleznick and Bujtas called.

Philip Sternheimer: AAQ5 All in
Jared Bleznick: KQ98 All in
Laszlo Bujtas: AQ44

Bleznick told Bujtas, "You have me in such bad shape", because Laszlo had higher spades and also took away some of his diamond outs.

The board came out 10654Q, and Bujtas' set of fours won him the entire pot.

Fischer Stays Alive

Level 10 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Noah Fischer
Noah Fischer

Aaron Katz checked from the big blind on the turn of a board that showed 6A5K. Veselin Karakitukov bet 75,000 from the hijack before Noah Fischer jammed for 160,000 from the button. Katz folded, but Karakitukov reluctantly called.

Noah Fischer: AAJ10 All in
Veselin Karakitukov: K1098

Karakitukov needed a heart or seven on the river to beat Fischer's set of aces. The 9 fell on the river, and Fischer earned the much-needed double-up.

Cowen Chips Up Without Showdown

Level 10 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Heading into the final level of the night, nearly half of the Day 1 field had already been eliminated and the action towards the business end has picked up once again. More moderate action was to be found on a J88 flop when Gruffudd Pugh-Jones and Chris Brewer checked to Robert Cowen, who bet 65,000.

Only Brewer called and checked the Q turn to then fold to a pot-sized bet by Cowen.
