Kuhn Can't Survive Andrews

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Cherish Andrews raised to 3,000 from middle position and in the cutoff, Robert Kuhn three-bet to 9,000 to see only Andrews call.

The flop rolled out J♠10♣3♠ and Andrews checked over to Kuhn who bet 8,000, prompting Andrews to raise to 20,000. Kuhn responded by moving all in for 59,000 and Andrews called.

Cherish Andrews: 10♠8♠

Andrews hit her second card on the 8♥ turn to improve to two pair, then further improved to a flush on the 7♠ river and Kuhn was eliminated from the tournament.

Schutten Loses to Chung's Quads

Having recently doubled up, David Chung committed his newly acquired 21,500 into the middle from early position and Brek Schutten called to try and bust him from the next seat.

It was a flip that Chung needed to win to keep his Main Event dream alive. Chung left Schutten almost drawing dead on the 8♥A♦8♠ flop as he improved to quad eights. The remainder of the board came Q♥9♣ and Chung yet again, doubled up.

McKeehen Falls To Feder

Action was recapped by the table.

Brett Feder raised to 3,500 in the hijack and on the button, Joe McKeehen three-bet to 12,500. Action folded back around to Feder who four-bet to 38,500 and McKeehen called.

The flop rolled out Q♣8♣6♣ and Feder moved all in for 115,000 effective and McKeehen called to put himself at risk.

No help was brought to the 2015 WSOP Main Event champion on the runout of 3♥9♠ and Feder raked in a massive pot while McKeehen was eliminated from the tournament.

Also eliminated shortly after at the same table was 8th place finisher in the 2022 WSOP Main Event, Aaron Duczak.

"It's time for a big boy move," he commented as the action folded to Timur Margolin in the small blind. He called with the covering stack, and the players showed down.

Margolin flopped a set on 4♠7♥10♠, and Farrell was left drawing dead on the K♠ turn. The triple crown winner would not add a WSOP Main Event win to his resume, and he said his goodbyes as the 3♥ river completed the board.

Jeffrey Korn kicked the action off with a raise under the gun to 2,500. On his immediate left, Matthew Cannuli wasted little time in moving all in for 18,600. The action then folded to Shuofei Geng in the small blind. Geng requested a count of the all-in stack and, with his new information, made the call.

The preflop action wasn't complete yet, though, as Korn responded by moving all in himself, for a total of 23,300. Geng made the call, and the three players turned the cards onto their backs.

Shuofei Geng: K♥Q♥

A promising situation for Korn, who had both players dominated. The A♦9♠Q♦ flop only strengthened his position to receive a near triple up.

The turn, however, shot Cannuli into the lead, as the dealer flipped over the J♣.

The river J♠ sealed the deal for Cannuli, as Korn watched his plans for a triple go up in flames.

The dealer tidied the pot up, sending Cannuli three times as many chips as he had started with, 9,400 in the direction of Korn, who had won the side pot, and nothing to Geng.

To add salt to the wound, Korn would be eliminated just a few hands later.

Spirins Gets a Massive Double from Kuhn

Pavels Spirins raised to 2,600 in middle position and Robert Kuhn defended from the big blind. The flop came 8♦5♥3♣ and Kuhn checked to Spirins who continued with a bet. Kuhn check-raised to 16,000 and Spirins just called.

The turn brought the 9♠ and Kuhn checked again. Spirins fired out a bet of 13,500 and Kuhn check-raised to 47,000. Spirins called and the A♦ landed on the river.

Kuhn checked for the third time and Spirins only gave him two options this time by shoving all in for 143,000. Kuhn asked for a count and went into the tank for at least two minutes.

"This might be the worst played hand ever," he said to himself while thinking. Kuhn eventually called and Spirins turned over 5♠5♣ for a set of fives while Kuhn was forced to show his K♣8♥ for just a pair of eights.

Chen Fills Up to Take Commanding Lead Over Table

Heads-up to the A♣9♥A♦ flop, Gabriel Cansino checked from middle position to Dong Chen in the hijack. Chen bet 3,200, and Cansino called.

The 10♥ on the turn saw Chen size up significantly. His bet of 22,500 was again check-called by Cansino, and Cansino checked the Q♠ river as well.

Chen took some time before he settled on a bet of 25,700, which was quickly called by Cansino. Chen showed A♠10♠ for a full house, besting the A♥K♥ of Cansino, who was left with less than a starting stack.

Locquet Makes the Right Call with Middle Pair

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Romain Locquet opened from early position with 5♣4♣, and after action folded around, Loni Hui three-bet to 9,000 from middle position holding Q♣10♣. Locquet made the call, and the two went to a flop.

The K♠A♠3♣ flop offered both players some possibilities, and after Locquet checked, Hui continued for 6,000. Locquet called again.

The K♥ turn saw both players slow down and check, bringing the 5♠ on the river. Locquet paired his five and checked once more. Hui responded with a sizable bet of 18,000, putting Locquet to the test.

After a long tank, Locquet stuck in the hero-call, and it turned out to be the right one, as his modest pair of fives was enough to drag in the pot.

Arredondomeza Shows One Card to Quaade

Jose Arredondomeza raised to 4,400 from middle position and only Thomas Quaade called from the big blind.

Heads-up to the A♣2♠5♣ flop, where Quaade knuckled the action over to Arredondomeza, who bet 7,000. Quaade called.

The 10♥ turn went check-check for the K♠ to appear on the river. Quaade checked for the last time and Arredondomeza fired out 12,000 into the middle. Quaade went into the tank for quite some time before asking Arredondomeza, "You show if I fold?" Arredondomeza didn't respond and after a few more moments, Quaade reluctantly folded.

Arredondomeza turned over the A♦ for top pair as he stacked his newly found chips.
