While a busy day of the 2025 World Series of Poker will be going on around them at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, four contenders will return to the felt for an addition to the schedule.
Event #83: $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em Freezeout is back for an extra day, as play was halted late Saturday night. Action will resume at 1:00 p.m. local time, where Breno Drumond holds a sizeable lead with more than 40 percent of the chips in play. The large Brazilian rail was out in full force before play was suspended, and they are expected to return hoping to cheer Drumond on to victory.
Sitting in second place is Preston McEwen, the only other player returning with more than 20 big blinds. Next on the leaderboard is PokerGO founder Cary Katz, a high stakes regular who boasts more than $40 million in career earnings.

The final four players are rounded out by Jaehoon Baek, who will take his seat as the short stack with just 10 big blinds.
Everyone remaining is guaranteed at least $155,010, while top prize of $449,245 remains to be settled. The victory will be extra special for any of the four players, as Sunday's champion will earn a first career WSOP bracelet.

Action will get back underway inside the Horseshoe Event Center on Level 36, with blinds at 300,000/600,000 and a 600,000 big blind ante. Levels will continue at 60 minutes in duration until a champion is crowned.

Jaehoon Baek had open-shoved twice in a row, both times getting folds from his opponents. Breno Drumond then raised his button to 1,200,000, and Baek moved all in again.
Drumond quickly let his cards go as more chips were sent to Baek.

Katz was looking for help, and picked up a flush draw on the 5♣4♦2♦ flop. The dealer then flipped over the 6♦ turn, filling Katz's diamond draw, while the 3♣ river completed the board and Katz doubled up.

Jaehoon Baek opened to 1,200,000 from under the gun, and Preston McEwen made the call on the button while leaving just 300,000 behind.
Breno Drumond slid in a call in the big blind, and the A♦4♣J♥ flop was fanned out. Drumond checked to Baek, who continued for 600,000.
McEwen called off the rest of his chips, and Drumond also came along to the 10♣ turn. Drumond checked and got out of the way after Baek fired 2,200,000.
