2025 World Series of Poker
Wagner Ripper just doubled up the hand before and decided to stick his chips in yet again when he jammed for 44,000 from early position. Andrew Soehnlen opted to shove for more to isolate Ripper. The rest of the table folded to send Soehnlen and Ripper to a showdown.
Wagner Ripper: A♦10♠
Andrew Soehnlen: Q♣Q♥
Ripper needed help to stay in the tournament, and the flop brought none as it came 3♣K♣2♠.
Ripper's prospects were looking bleak when the A♠ rolled off on the turn to save the day. The J♠ river did not aid Soehnlen as Ripper doubled.
Kiyokazu Okamoto raised to 16,000 from the button only for Yulian Bogdanov to three-bet all in from the big blind. Okamoto snap called.
Yulian Bogdanov: A♥J♦
Kiyokazu Okamoto: 10♦10♠
The board ran out 7♠6♦8♦2♦9♦ and made Okamoto a straight, not that it was needed, to send Bogdanov packing.
Two players will be splitting a minimum cash as the bubble bursted with two eliminations in the $2,500 Freezeout.
Anthony Ruberto chose to ship his final 106,000 from early position on the bubble and was called by Gary Hasson from the hijack to put Ruberto at risk.
Anthony Ruberto: A♣K♣
Gary Hasson: Q♥Q♠
It was the classic race between big slick and pocket queens, and it was the queens that prevailed this time as Ruberto was unable to find his outs on the 3♦2♠5♠9♦9♠ board to eliminate Ruberto.
At another table, an all-in also occurred when Nicola Karl from the small blind Siegfried Kapeller in the big blind battled in an all-in pot with Kapeller at risk.
Siegfried Kapeller: Q♦Q♥
Nicola Karl: 8♦5♠
Kapeller held a significant lead over Karl, but the flop was disastrous for Kapeller as it fanned out A♦8♣5♣.
The 9♦ did not help Kapeller's chances of staying alive, and the 7♦ river sealed his fate as Kapeller shared the bubble with Ruberto.
Justin Lapka raised from under the gun to 40,000, and Preston McEwen put most of his chips in, except it was deemed an illegal raise. He then deposited the entire amount of $87,000 from the cutoff. Lapka made the call.
Preston McEwen: K♠K♥
Justin Lapka: A♣A♥
The board worked out exceptionally well for McEwen with 2♦9♥K♦4♦K♣, and quads would crush the aces.
The floor have just instructed the dealers to complete the hand they are on and then stop dealing and stand up.
Everybody knows what this means! Stone bubble time!
Two minutes will be deducted per hand dealt once the clock has officially been paused.
Alan Goasdoue raised to 50,000 from the cutoff, and Graeme Newman moved all in from the button for 157,000. Malcolm Trayner was in the small blind with 4,000 chips and folded. Goasdoue called.
Graeme Newman: K♥K♦
Alan Goasdoue: A♥Q♣
The board ran out safe for Newman with 7♥10♣5♠9♥2♣, and Newman's pair of kings held.
Wagner Ripper began with an open under the gun for 16,000. It folded to Dohyeok Kim on the button, who chose to call. Anthony Ruberto came along from the big blind to send them to a flop three-handed.
The flop came 3♥10♠Q♠, which led to checks from Ruberto and Ripper. Kim chose to fire 16,000 and was met with a call from Ruberto and a fold from Ripper.
Both remaining players checked the 5♠ turn.
The 7♥ river led to another check from Ruberto, but Kim chose to bet 57,000. Ruberto thought for some time before he put out a call.
Kim showed Q♣J♥, which was good enough as Ruberto mucked his hand.
With 198 players remaining and 195 being paid, we are quickly approaching the bubble.
Hand-for-hand play will more than likely come into effect soon, and two minutes will be deducted from the clock for every hand dealt.
