Nguyen Pressures Zamani as Cagey Play Continues

Level 25 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Play has been quite slow since the return from dinner, with just two flops seen in the first 11 hands of play, with many small pots going in the direction of Martin Zamani.

Khoi Le Nguyen opened the hijack to 600,000 and Zamani flatted in the small blind after a long tank.

On the A109 flop, Zamani checked to Nguyen who continued for 900,000 and Zamani called.

Zamani checked once again on the 3 turn before Nguyen announced a bet of 2,500,000, and Zamani snap-folded.

Jun Obara opened the hijack to 500,000 and Martin Zamani flatted on the button. In the small blind, Sergio Aido would use a time bank before he announced all-in for 5,855,000. Obara rejammed and Zamani folded.

Jun Obara: 99

It was a flip with massive implications as the flop came AJ3 to pair Aido. He was able to hold through the 63 runout as he dragged a massive one to swap stacks with Obara.

Nine River Time Extensions

Level 24 : Blinds 120,000/240,000, 240,000 ante
Martin Zamani

Sam Soverel kicked the action off with a raise to 500,000 from the hijack. The only player to call was Martin Zamani, defending his big blind.

The dealer spread a 8A10 flop and Zamani check-called a bet of 350,000.

Both players checked on the 3 turn, before Zamani decided to take over the betting lead on the 6 river.

Zamani placed a bet of 2,100,000, which left a tortured-looking Soverel unsure of what to do. He went deep into the tank, thinking through the hand. Nine time extensions were used before he managed to reach a decision, ultimately choosing to call.

"Straight", announced Zamani, turning over 97. This was good enough to earn him the pot as Soverel mucked his cards.

Nguyen Wins a Small One

Level 24 : Blinds 120,000/240,000, 240,000 ante

Khoi Le Nguyen raised to 500,000 from middle position, receiving calls from both Martin Zamani on the button and the player in the big blind.

Both the big blind and Nguyen checked on the 95A flop, prompting Zamani to place a bet of 725,000. The big blind player folded, but Nguyen made the call.

The action was short and sweet from that moment as both players checked the 8 turn and the 9 river.

Nguyen revealed A10, which was good enough to claim the pot as Zamani mucked his cards.

Christopher Nguyen Eliminated in 10th Place ($175,048)

Level 23 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Christopher Nguyen

Having lost a big all in the previous hand, Christopher Nguyen immediately got back on the horse, putting in a raise to 400,000 from the hijack. Alexandre Reard, the player who won the previous hand versus Nguyen, put in a three-bet to 875,000 from the button.

Action folded back to Nguyen, who took a moment before moving all in for 2,825,000. Reard called immediately and showed Nguyen the bad news.

Christopher Nguyen: J10 All in
Alexandre Reard: AA

The flop saw Reard flop a set for the second consecutive hand, as the dealer put out A47.

It was all over for Nyugen on the 10 turn, Reard's lead now unassailable. The mandatory river provided the K, but Nguyen had already gathered his things and headed towards the exit.

Christopher Nguyen raised to 400,000 in the cutoff, and Alexandre Reard responded with a three-bet all in for 2,125,000. Once Nguyen had clarified the bet amount, he used two time banks and then made the call.

Alexandre Reard: 66 All in

It was a great start for Reard, when the window card saw him flop a set, the flop coming out 673.

The turn 5 brought some chop opportunities, but the river 3 only served to see Reard improve to a full house, earning a full double up.
