Marcano Misses the Outs
Level 12
: Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Andre Marcano opened the betting under the gun, as he potted it to 10,500. Samuel Burkett on his direct left repotted it to 36,000. Marcano put in the call, then went all in for his remaining 47,500 on a flop of Q♥10♣7♦. Burkett snapped him off.
Andre Marcano: Q♦J♥9♥8♣
Samuel Burkett: A♣A♠9♠5♣
Marcano seemed to have all the outs in the world, with two open-enders as well as a backdoor flush draw. Pairing a second one of his hole cards, too, would earn him the lead. The 10♦ turn was quite possibly the worst in the deck, as he now couldn't make a flush or a better two pair than Burkett, meaning he needed a straight or a queen to stay alive. The 3♦ river sent him home right before the end of the night.
