James Mitich raised to 1,000 in early position, which only David Boyaciyan called in the small blind.
Boyaciyan check-called a bet of 1,000 on a 9♥8♥8♣ flop, and check-called another bet of 2,000 on the J♠ turn.
The Q♠ river saw Boyaciyan check for a third time, but this time, when Mitich bet 3,000, Boyaciyan check-raised to 8,500. Mitich wasted no time at all in calling, and, when Boyaciyan tabled A♣Q♦, Mitich flipped over A♠Q♥ to claim half of the pot.
