Metallic Gets an Early Double
Level 11
: Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
In one of the first hands of Day 3, Matthew Metallic moved all in from under the gun for his remaining 26,000. He had a long sweat around the table as players folded one-by-one until Chang Huang called on the button. The blinds folded, and he was left to see his fate as the cards were flipped.
Matthew Metallic: A♣10♠
Chang Huang: 8♠8♦
Metallic said, "It's a race, perfect!" once he saw that he had two overcards to Huang's pocket eights.
He didn't have to wait long to pick up a pair on the 5♦10♥6♣ flop, and he held to lock up the double after seeing the Q♦ turn and 6♠ river.
