Chance Kornuth Shines on Day 1b of the $10K GGMillion$ High Roller

The second and final Day 1 of Event #11: $10,000 GGMillion$ High Roller attracted another 209 players to the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, with 111 progressing from this flight into Day 2. This takes the total attendance to 403, but with late registration remaining open until the end of the second level on Day 2, there's every chance that number will increase.

It is highly improbable that Chance Kornuth will have to take advantage of being able to reenter unlimited times while late registration is open because he bagged up one of the largest stacks in the room, namely 444,000. That stack was enough for third place on Day 1b and places the four-time bracelet winner in sixth place overall.

Taiwan's Nevan Chang (605,000) headed into the night having locked in this flight's chip lead, although he'll return on Day 2 third in chips, trailing Clemen Deng (772,000) and fellow Taiwanese star Chih Fan (846,500) who both bagged up massive stacks on Day 1a.

As you would expect, the field on Day 1b was littered with bracelet winners, $25K Fantasy Draft picks, and combinations of both.

Dan Shak (379,000) enjoyed his time at the tables and finished fifth on the night. Frank Funaro Jr (340,000), Boris Kolev (334,000), Klemens Roiter (326,500), Joao Simao (317,000), and Cary Katz (315,500) all came close to bagging and tagging a top 10 stack.

Lower down the count but most certainly still in contention in this event are the likes of Kristen Foxen (274,000), Punnat Punsri (257,000), Alex Foxen (240,500), Brock Wilson (237,500), the controversial Maurice Hawkins (214,000), Maria Konnikova (164,000), Qinghai Pan (116,000), Renji Mao (100,000), and poker's reigning world champion Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi (93,500).

Day 2 of this high roller begins at 12:00 p.m. local time on June 2. Late registration remains open until the end of Level 12, which should be around 2:15 p.m. local time. PokerNews' live reporting team will be on hand from this point on, bringing you all the updates from this star-studded affair.
