The $1,500 6-Handed No-Limit Hold'em Event Kicks Off at 10:00 a.m.
A couple of thousand poker players are expected to descend on the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas for Event #13: $1,500 6-Handed No-Limit Hold'em on the morning of June 1. The latest tournament of the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) is a three-day affair that will see a winner emerge on June 3, doing so with a top prize expected to be around $400,000.
Short-handed tournaments tend to be exciting battles because players play a wider range of hands and do so more aggressively. Expect chips to fly from the moment the tournament director tells their dealers to shuffle up and deal.

However, late registration remains open for nine levels (approx. 5:00 p.m. local time) for anyone who wants to sleep in. Regardless of when you enter, you'll receive 25,000 chips.
Seventeen levels, each spanning 40 minutes, are planned on Day 1. Don't worry if that sounds like a long day, because 20-minute breaks every three levels and a 75-minute dinner break after Level 12 (approx. 7:00 p.m. local time) break up the action.
Day 2 starts at 11:00 a.m. local time on June 2. Blinds extend to 60 minutes and remain so until a champion is crowned on Day 3. Another 10 levels are scheduled on Day 2, with 15-minute breaks every couple of levels, and a 60-minute dinner break after Level 23 (approx. 5:30 p.m. local time).
The final day, Day 3, takes place on June 2 at a time to be decided. Day 3 players take a 15-minute break every two levels, and a dinner break will be discussed during play.
Past Champions & History
Christopher Staats triumphed in this event last year and won his second WSOP bracelet. Staats didn't know if he was going to play at the series in 2025 because he'd taken a break from poker and got a job in a warehouse.
"Like I said, I was working in a warehouse. I thought I would take the summer off, and I think that just ignited the fire and the fun and the love I have for the game. When I was working that job, I just felt like I was losing my identity. All my skill sets are wrapped around this game, and it just really felt like I needed to be in this space. I really felt coming into the summer like this was going to be special."
