Hunichen Ends Roldan's Ride
Level 24
: Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
There was 24 players remaining when Juan Roldan opened to 250,000 from the hijack, leaving himself a single 5,000 chip behind. Chris Hunichen called on the button and no further players jumped into the action.
The 2♦5♣5♠ flop saw Roldan check and Hunichen bet 5,000. There was some discussion at the table given players were on a pay jump and Roldan was taking some time to make his decision. He moved his final chip into the pot and turned over his ace-three off suit.
Juan Roldan: A♥3♠
Chris Hunichen: A♣7♠
He was up against Hunichen's ace-seven, and needed to improve to stay alive. The 3♦ turn was one step towards saving Roldan, but the A♠ river saw Hunichen take the pot as the fives on the board played with his seven kicker.
