Payne Hurts on River
Level 24
: Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Sangni Zhao opened to 100,000 from early position before Hunter Payne went all-in for approximately 450,000 from the cutoff. Zhao called to put Payne at risk.
Hunter Payne: 9♥9♦
Sangni Zhao: K♣J♠
Payne hit his set on the 9♠10♥7♣ flop, but Zhao was still in the hunt with a straight draw.
The 6♦ turn kept Payne on top of the standings, but the river was all Zhao as the 8♣ peeled to give Zhao a straight.
