Scott Lamm opened the action with a raise to 45,000 from the cutoff. Casey Hayes announced "pot" from the big blind, and Lamm called the 145,000 bet. Hayes then jammed the 8♦3♥Q♠ flop and Lamm snap-called for his remaining 160,000.

Lamm had completely outflopped Hayes' aces, with two pair and a nut low draw the hand to beat. However, the case A♠ turn was the absolute worst card in the deck for Lamm, as he was drawing to a chop with no way of cracking his opponent's set. The 7♠ turn sealed the deal, as Hayes' seven-low pipped Lamm's rivered eight.
