Verbruggen Wins the Two Pair Battle

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Heads-up action was picked up between Oleksii Mezhenkov in the big blind and Tom Verbruggen in hijack looking at a K93 flop beside 150,000 pot.

The dealer peeled J and, after Mezhenkov checked the action, Verbruggen added 40,000 more to the pot which made Mezenko think about his options.

He took considerable time then finally called. Both players checked the A river.

Mezhenkov tabled K3 for a two pair but couldn't beat Verbruggen's K9 for the higher two pair.
