Thanhlong Nguyen opened to 250,000 from the cutoff, and Michael Estes raised to pot on the button, which totalled 930,000. Nguyen called.
He then check-called a bet of 710,000 on a flop of K♠9♠A♣ with Estes leaving just 10,000 behind. Action then checked through on the 4♠ turn and 5♠ river, as Estes' set with K♥K♦Q♦2♠ took down the pot.
Action was picked up on the turn, in a bloated pot between button player Will Givens and big blind Hokyiu Lee.
The board read K♥10♥8♠2♣ and Lee had led out for 980,000; a pot-sized bet. Givens stuck in the call, and the river Q♦ was dealt.
Here, Lee announced "900,000," Givens snap-jammed and Lee snap-called, tabling A♣K♣J♠5♠ for the nuts.
Givens' K♦J♦9♣2♠ was no good, as he let the table know he thought Lee had announced pot, rather than 900,000.
This hand was picked up on the 3♠8♦9♥ flop.
Hokyiu Lee limped checked the hijack before Sonny Lee raised to 480,000 on the button. Lee went all-in, and Lee called to put himself at risk for 1,440,000
Sonny Lee: 9♠8♠4♠4♥
Hokyiu Lee: A♠J♠J♦7♣
The 4♣ improved Lee to a full house, and the 9♣ river gave him a higher full house to secure the double up.
Ryan Wince raised to 420,000 from under the gun.
Jason Zipfel called from the big blind to bring the 9♠A♠4♠ flop. Wince shoved for 620,000 after it was checked to him, and Zipfel made the call to put Wince at risk.
Ryan Wince: A♣J♦9♥8♦
Jason Zipfel: A♦10♠8♥7♣
Wince had the best hand with top two pair.
The 3♥ turn and 6♥ river did not alter that as Wince secured the double up.
Will Givens opened to 400,000 from under the gun. Hokyiu Lee made the call from the cutoff.
Both players checked the 8♥9♥2♥ flop.
Givens bet 375,000 on the 9♦ turn and was called by Lee.
The 6♣ river led to a check from Givens. Lee fired 500,000, and Givens called.
Lee showed A♣J♥7♥5♣ for a straight to take down the pot as Given mucked his hand.
Jochen Pfeifer opened the action as he potted to 420,000. Maxx Coleman then repotted to 1,320,000 from the big blind, and Pfeifer thought for a bit before potting again. Coleman called all-in for not much more.
Maxx Coleman: Q♦Q♠J♠8♦
Jochen Pfeifer: A♣K♥Q♥4♣
The J♥5♠3♥ flop gave Coleman a massive sweat, but he managed to survive on the brick 9♣7♠ runout to earn the double.
Ryan Wince raised to 400,000 under the gun. Action folded all the way around to Jason Zipfel, who defended his big blind.
The 4♠8♦6♠ flop checked through, as did the 4♣ turn, leading both players to the 7♠ river. Here, Zipfel led out for 700,000, and Wince went deep into the tank. He pondered his options for quite some time, before opting to fold.
Philip Stark opened to 420,000 from under the gun. Ido Aboudi announced pot to put Stark all-in. Stark called to put his 580,000 stack at risk.
Philip Stark: K♥Q♣Q♠8♣
Ido Aboudi: A♥A♠6♣2♣
Aboudi stayed ahead on the 10♦8♠5♠ flop, but Stark did pick up some additional outs when he hit a pair of eights.
The 6♠ turn was of no consequence to either player.
Stark was left needing help but the 9♥ hit the river and ended his tournament in 12th place.
He earned $24,740 for his finish.
