Makowsky Leads Returning Field of 171 in $1,500 H.O.R.S.E.

Daniel Makowsky
Daniel Makowsky

Just 171 players of the original 780 entrants will return to the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas for Day 2 of Event #37: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E.

Leading the way is Swiss poker veteran Daniel Makowsky (390,000), whose poker resume includes over $1,200,000 in live-tournament earnings. Makowsky has six World Series of Poker final table appearances, with his most recent one coming from the $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. event in 2023, where he placed ninth. Still in search of his first bracelet, Makowsky enters Day 2 atop the leaderboard and well-positioned for another deep run.

Hot on Makowsky's heels is Canadian Clayton Mozdzen with 383,000, and rounding out the podium spots is Stephen Hubbard (312,500), fresh off a victory from the $1,500 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw earlier in the series for his first bracelet as he looks to further cement his status as one of the mixed-game arena's rising stars.

After late registration closed and the numbers were tallied, the prize pool was determined to be $1,035,450. The top 117 players are set to get paid, with $183,366 reserved for the winner.

Play is set to get back underway at 1 p.m. local time on Level 16, which features betting limits of 6,000/12,000. Day 2 is scheduled to play 10 hour-long levels, with players receiving breaks after every two levels. An extended dinner break will take place after Level 21 (approximately 7:30 p.m.).
