Katz Winds Up Third-Best as Johnson Scoops a Massive Pot
Limits: 5,000-10,000
Cary Katz raised in the cutoff and Raymond Bentley three-bet on the button. "Ray, I thought we were friends?" Katz said. Marco Johnson then four-bet in the big blind.
"What's going on? I'm the tightest guy at the table and this is the first hand I played," Katz said as he called, while Bentley also called.
The flop came 10♠8♣4♥ and Johnson bet. Katz then raised and Bentley called. Johnson then reraised, Katz put in another raise, Bentley called, and Johnson reraised. Katz called all in, while Bentley also called.
"If you win this, you're in the driver's seat," tablemate Gus Hansen said to Katz as the turn came the 4♣. Johnson then bet, and Bentley called.
Johnson bet again on the 6♥ river, and Bentley quickly called once more. Johnson showed 10♦10♥ for a full house, and Katz tossed J♣J♦ into the muck. Bentley also mucked Q♣Q♥.
"I'm third-best," Katz said as he headed to the rail, while Johnson scooped the massive pot.
