Ian Matakis Eliminated in 16th Place ($82,463)
Ian Matakis made it 220,000 to go from an early position and left one T-5,000 chip behind on a pay jump. Chongxian Yang then raised to 500,000 in the cutoff and Matthew Costanzo used one time bank before he called on the button.
The blinds both folded and Matakis then glanced at his time bank extensions while checking the other table nearby briefly. He ended up using three of them before calling all-in.
Both active players checked the A♥Q♥7♣ flop and J♠ turn, the J♣ river then saw Yang bet 500,000 and Costanzo called.
Matakis tabled his A♣K♣10♦3♣ for broadway and Yang had the equally strong K♦10♣9♣8♦. However, it was Costanzo who had the best of it with the K♠Q♣J♥9♠ for jacks full of queens to score the knockout and pull ahead of Yang. Matakis has earned $82,463 for his effort and all remaining players have locked up a six-figure cash prize.
