One of the more star-studded buy-in events returns to the 2026 World Series of Poker, when Event #47: $25,000 Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller begins at 12:00 p.m. local time today. This eight-handed event features two Day 1 flights before the fields merge over four days of action at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.

Omaha events have seen impressive numbers during the 2026 WSOP, and there is no reason to believe this event will be any different. Almost 500 players turned out in force in 2025 despite the $25,000 buy-in. You should expect a similar crowd this year.

Structure and Schedule

Players start with 150,000 chips while navigating through ten 60-minute levels on the opening day 1 flights. There will be 15-minute breaks after every two levels, with a 60-minute dinner break at approximately 6:30 p.m.

The event allows for two reentries per flight, with registration remaining open through 12 levels, so players have until 2:15 p.m. on Day 2 to take their seat.

Day 2 is scheduled to last ten more levels, before playing down to the final five players on Day 3. Those five players will return to play out for the title on June 19th. The event is played with a 20-second shot clock before the flop, and a 30-second shot clock after the flop.

Past Champions & Notable Winners

In 2025, it was German PLO specialist Dennis Weiss who locked his second WSOP bracelet, beating former WSOP Main Event third-place finisher Michael Duekfor a career-best score of $2,292,155.

Weiss outlasted 489 entrants, denying eleven-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Ivey another piece of silverware.

The reigning champion has already cashed seven times this summer, three of which were final-table appearances, and one was a bracelet-winning victory. Weiss is in hot form. Can he turn that into another piece of WSOP gold?
