There are few events, if any, in the world of poker that can match the $200,000 Triton Invitational.
Sixty of the world's greatest Pros will take their seats alongside 60 VIP Invitees, creating a field that brings together the very best the game has to offer with those who simply love poker and want to test themselves against its biggest names. It is a format unlike any other in the game.
And this year's edition is already making history. The confirmed field has surpassed the previous record of 48 pairings set at May's Montenegro series, while the event itself is also breaking new ground. In the year Triton Poker celebrates a decade of changing the high-stakes scene, the Invitational is heading to Asia for the very first time, close to the tour's roots at Les A Casino in Jeju Shinhwa World. It means a confirmed prize pool of at least $24 million already, with re-entries both possible and likely.
Triton Invitational Day 1 Structure
After last night's lavish ceremonial seat draw, the players are ready. Cards will be in the air from 12:00 pm local time, with chips in play whether players are sat down or not. Starting stacks will be 300,000 chips with 500/1,000 blinds, and the plan on Day 1 is to play ten 50-minute levels.
It's worth a reminder that Invitees and Pros will be separated on Day 1, as per the standard Triton Invitational format, before the two fields merge on Day 2, ahead of crowning a Day 3 winner. Late registration closes before the start of Level 11.
PokerNews will be offering full live coverage of all three days of the $200,000 Triton Invitational, bringing you more of the action from Triton's flagship tournament than ever before.
