Helppi Doubles Then Busts in Three-Way Clash

Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Juha Helppi

Juha Helppi squeezed tio 330,000 in the big blind and then faced the repot of Daniel Perkusic to 1,000,000. Helppi mulled it over before he moved all in for little more and Perkusic called.

Daniel Perkusic: AA1033

"I have very weak aces," Perkusic said when the cards were flipped over.

The board ran out J9768 and Helppi turned a flush. Both stacks were counted and Helppi's 1,045,000 double left Perkusic on fumes.

In the very next hand, Perkusic jammed for the last 75,000 in the cutoff. Helppi potted to 255,000 in the small blind and Ravi Shankar called in the big blind.

The AK3 flop saw Helppi lead for 300,000 and Shankar then raised the pot. Helppi was briefly stunned before he eventually stuck in his stack of more than 1.8 million and Shankar instantly called.

Ravi Shankar: AAQ62

Perkusic needed a lot of help and had just two outs on the 3 turn. However, there was no miracle on the J river and Shankar knocked out two opponents.

"Can I fold there?" Helppi asked.

Bouwe Claushuis replied, "of course, I would snap-fold there." There was more table chatter and the Dutch player even remarked "I am sorry but you suck," for which he apologized, pointing out several times that Shankar was a very tight player and would only ever make that move with pocket aces.
