Arieh Folds Out Volpe; Volpe Shows a Bluff

Josh Arieh limped in from the button and Chris Hunichen did the same from the small blind. Paul Volpe bumped it up to 125,000 from the big blind and only Arieh called.

Volpe continued for 70,000 on the 10106 flop, and called when Arieh made it 225,000.

Volpe checked on the Q turn, and Arieh fired out 550,000. After some time in the tank, Volpe folded.

On the next deal, Lonis called from the hijack and Arieh also limped. Volpe made it 150,000 from the small blind and was called by both players.

It checked through to the river for the board to read Q10210Q. Volpe led out for 200,000, quickling folding out Lonis. Arieh thought for some time, but returned his cards to the dealer.

Volpe then tabled AKJ9 for an airball.

Jason Mercier raised to 70,000 in the cutoff. Kristopher Tong responded with a three-bet to 280,000 in the small blind, which Maxx Coleman upped to 650,000 in the big blind.

Mercier spent some time in the tank before letting go of his cards. Tong followed suit with an instant fold, shipping the pot to Coleman predraw.

After he had gone through the blinds in the last few hands, Chris Brewer had just under one full raise left and moved all-in for 110,000 in the cutoff. He was called by Nick Guagenti in the small blind and Jason Mercier in the big blind.

The two active players checked the K92 flop and A turn, Guagenti check-folded the 10 river.

Brewer tossed his 97 towards the middle of the table and it was no good, as Mercier's QJ had rivered broadway to reduce the field to the final 11 players.

Tong Has Heaps; Brewer Needs a Miracle

Chris Brewer raised from under the gun and Kristopher Tong called in the big blind. Tong check-called a bet on the KJ4 flop before they checked down the 7 turn and 6 river, Tong won the pot with the J10.

Jason Mercier then raised in the cutoff and Tong three-bet in the small blind, Brewer forfeited the big blind and Mercier called. The flop came 1087 and Tong bet, Mercier raised and Tong made it three bets to pick up a call. Tong bet the 10 turn and K river to get called and his 77 for sevens full scooped another nice pot.

Tong then took a minor hit when one street of betting on the QJ394 board saw Maxx Coleman in the big blind win the pot with the K3.

Benny Glaser limped in from the hijack. Phil Ivey then raised to 135,000 in the cutoff, and Jesse Lonis joined the pot with a call on the button. Glaser wanted to see a flop as well, calling before checking on 426.

Ivey also checked, prompting Lonis to bet 240,000. Glaser called before Ivey folded. Lonis and Glaser then both checked the J turn. Lonis checked again on the 10 river, but Glaser barreled 650,000 into the pot.

Lonis instantly mucked his hand, seeing Glaser cross the five-million mark again.

Chris Hunichen completed, and it folded to Benny Glaser, who was the bring-in. He wanted to call, but accidentally raised as he threw in two T-100,000 chips. Hunichen capitalized by reraising. Glaser reluctantly called.

Glaser paired up on fourth street and folded to a bet.

Phil Ivey completed and was called by Jesse Lonis and Paul Volpe.

Ivey bet on fourth street, and was called by both players. Ivey continued betting on fifth street and only Lonis called. Lonis called bets on sixth and seventh street, and Ivey pointed to him to gesture that Lonis had the winner.

Lonis showed down A82 for 8-7-5-2-A and took in the pot.

Showdown Pot for Mercier Against Tong

Jason Mercier raised in the cutoff to 85,000 and Kristopher Tong called out of the small blind to see a flop of J76. Tong check-called for 105,000 before they checked the 8 turn and 7 on the river.

"Queens," Tong announced but mucked when Mercier tabled the KKKQ for kings up.

"I wish you had limped ... make eights fold," Alex Livingston on the button said in the table chat.

Jason Mercier raised to 105,000 on the button, and Kristopher Tong defended his big blind. The duo checked through the 8K10 flop before Tong led out for 225,000 on the 7 turn.

Mercier called to the 3 river. where Tong sized up to 650,000. Mercier spent some moments in the tank before he slid in a tower of chips to call.

Tong tabled J997 for the nut straight, and Mercier mucked his cards in response.

Paul Volpe raised from the cutoff and Jesse Lonis came along from the big blind.

Lonis check-raised on the K109 flop, and Volpe called. Lonis fired out another bet on the 4 turn, and Volpe stuck around.

A final bet came from Lonis on the 2 river, which folded out Volpe.

"That one was a bluff," Lonis told Volpe after he was done stacking his chips.

Arieh Gets Some Back From Glaser

The turn showed Q438 and Benny Glaser had checked when the dealer already burned and was about to flip over the river card. Josh Arieh instantly asked him to stop because he had not checked yet and the floor was called. The A was exposed as that would have been the river card, which was now shuffled back into the deck.

No burn card was needed and the second river came with the K. Glaser check-called a bet and mucked when Arieh tabled the AQ72 for the nut low and a pair of queens.
