Hellmuth Active in Single Draw

Level 10

No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Single Draw

Phil Hellmuth raised to 14,000 from the cutoff before Michael Moncek three-bet to 41,000 from the cutoff. Hellmuth moved back over the top for around 315,000. Moncek went into the blender, ultimately folding a, "ten-eight." Hellmuth said he had a nine-seven, and then lamented his decision to shove.

On the next deal, Hellmuth opened to 14,000 and Jared Bleznick called from the button. Hellmuth drew one, while Bleznick stood pat. Hellmuth bet 40,000 and Bleznick folded.

Hellmuth made it 14,000 the following hand from under the gun. James Tilton and Josh Arieh called from the blinds. Each player drew one, and then checked through to showdown, where Tilton's 9x7x5x3x2x was best.

Maksim Pisarenko raised from middle position and Hlelmuth defended his big blind. Hellmuth took one before Pisarenko decided to stick with his hand. Both players checked and Pisarenko took the pot with Jx10x9x8x2x.
