Cooler Flop Helps Hess Double

Level 17 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

With the flop showing 3107 and around 75,000 in the pot, Michael Campitelli checked from the big blind and Imre Makranyi jammed from middle position with the covering stack. Robert Hess was also in the hand from the hijack and quickly called for his remaining 171,000 chips. Campitelli folded, and the cards were turned over with Hess at risk.

Robert Hess: 1010 All in
Imre Makranyi: 107

It was a cooler flop of top two pair versus top set. Makranyi was drawing dead after the 9 turn, making the K river a mere formality as Hess doubled up.
