Action begins bright and early in Event #61: $1,000 Super Seniors No-Limit Hold'em, as players will take their seats today at 10 a.m. local time at the 2026 World Series of Poker. This event is open to anyone 60 years of age and above, with a single reentry available on the first of four days on the schedule at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.
Upwards of 3,000 entrants are expected to compete for this event's bracelet and the title of Super Seniors champion.
Day 1 action will begin with blinds of 100/100 and a 100 big blind ante. Players start the tournament with 20,000 chips. Levels are 60 minutes long, with a 75-minute dinner break after Level 6, at approximately 4:40 p.m. on the opening day. Late registration will stay open until about 8:15 p.m. at the start of Level 9.
Ten levels are scheduled to be played on each of the first two days, with Day 2 starting at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Traditional PokerNews coverage will begin on Day 2. Day 3 will play down to the final five, then a champion will be crowned on Day 4, Thursday, June 25.
Last summer, Lonny Weitzel outlasted 3,338 entrants to win his first gold bracelet along with $356,494. It marked the largest cash of his career, but according to Weitzel, it was all about winning that WSOP gold bracelet.
“It’s an achievement, it’s a personal goal for me,” said Weitzel. He shared that as a business owner, it was more about the prestige of playing at the WSOP. “Money is not as important as getting to win and being in the WSOP in a world-class event like this.”
Other recent champions of the Super Seniors event include Sean Jazayeri (2024), Klaus Ilk (2023), and Massoud Eskandari (2022).
