Lam was able to dodge a queen as the board ran out 4♠, A♥ to secure him the much-needed double-up.
Heads-up to the 5♣7♦10♣ flop between Colin Walker and Thomas Swanson in the blinds. Walker bet 6,000, and Swanson raised to 17,000. Walker called.
Both players checked the A♠ turn before the 4♣ completed the board. They checked again on the river, and Swanson won the pot with 10♠5♦ for two pair.
Action picked up on the turn in a hand between Merle Halcom on the button and Donald Briggs in the small blind.
With over 50,000 in the middle and the board reading 3♥10♦9♥7♠, Briggs check-called a bet of 26,000 from Halcom.
Both players checked on the 10♥ river, and Briggs tabled the winner with K♣10♣, besting the J♠10♠ of Halcom.
With the tournament field down to 501 players, the tournament director instructed the dealers to complete the hand they were on and to hold up for hand-for-hand play.
The money will be reached after two more eliminations.
Mark Forster limped in early position, John Meola raised to 25,000 in middle position, and Brian Kay called in late position. Forster got out of the way.
Meola led out for 10,000 on the 5♦3♦2♦ flop and Kay called, bringing the 3♣ turn, where both players checked.
Both players checked again on the K♦ river, and Meola tabled J♦J♥ for the flush, besting the Q♠Q♣ of Kay.
Phuoc Nguyen raised to 10,000 from the cutoff with Roland Reparejo calling on the button and Sondra Lacoy coming along from the big blind.
Lacoy checked first on the 6♦6♥7♠ flop, and Nguyen fired a continuation-bet of 24,000. Reparejo called and Lacoy folded.
An A♦ arrived on the turn, and Nguyen immediately jammed, covering Reparejo. Reparejo, with about 75,000 in his stack, gave it a lot of thought before deciding to fold, relinquishing the pot to Nguyen.
With Donald Lloyd forced all in from the big blind, Jonathan Lemone raised to 10,000 from early position, and Robert Buckenmayer called in the cutoff.
Lemone decided to check the 7♣Q♠9♠ flop, and Buckenmayer bet 10,000. Lemone quickly folded A♥K♥, and the cards were turned over with Lloyd at risk.

Buckenmayer's top pair had Lloyd with one foot out the door, and after the 6♥ turn and 10♣ river provided no help, all of the chips were sent in Buckenmayer's direction.
Rene Chave got it all in preflop for about 25,000 from under the gun against Eric Ritter in the big blind, who covered.
