Earl Runs Into Wymore's Aces

Level 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

With similar stacks of around 240,000, Gregory Earl and Perry Wymore got all the chips in preflop.

Gregory Earl: A9 All in
Perry Wymore: AA

Earl was in awful shape with ace-nine against the pocket aces of Wymore.

Earl paired his nine on the 9K6 flop, but nothing more came of it as the 10 and 2 completed the board.

After the chips were counted, Wymore had slightly more, and Earl headed to the exit.

Level 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Marcel Luske
Marcel Luske

Marcel Luske raised to 25,000 in late position and Joseph Davidman flatted in the small blind.

The dealer put out a monotone flop of 2A10 and both players checked to the J turn.

Davidman led out for 50,000 and Luske moved all in for about 175,000 to put himself at risk. Davidman made the call.

Marcel Luske: AJ All in
Joseph Davidman: KQ

Only an ace or a jack on the river could save Luske, but the 3 river offered no such luck.

Forsberg Collects Chips From Freeze

Level 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Curtis Freeze opened under the gun to 22,000. Only Peter Forsberg decided to put his entire stack of 273,000 at risk by going all in. Freeze didn't hesitate and made the call.

Peter Forsberg: AAAll in
Curtis Freeze:AQ

The dealer revealed the board: 547107

The pocket aces of Forsberg were sufficient to win the pot. This took a pretty chunk out of Freeze's stack, who didn't look too impressed.

Whalen Slowplays Aces to Perfection

Level 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Korte Yeo raised from the cutoff and William Whalen called from the big blind.

Whalen knuckled it over to Yeo on the 69J flop, and Yeo fired a continuation-bet of 16,000. Whalen check-jammed for around 70,000, which Yeo called.

William Whalen: AA All in
Korte Yeo: QJ

Whalen had slow-played aces to perfection and found the perfect flop to get action.

Yeo didn't find any assistance on the 5 turn or 10 river, and he had to send over a small portion of his stack to Whalen.

Level 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Chris Nelson raised to 25,000 on the button and Jack Sloan three-bet shoved in the small blind for 96,000 to put himself at risk. Nelson made the call and Sloan stood up once the cards were tabled.

Jack Sloan: A9 All in
Chris Nelson: AK

"Nice playing with you guys," said Sloan.

"Don't do the stand up trick, there could be a nine coming," replied Nelson.

Nelson was right, there was a nine coming and it fell on the turn when the board ran out 31039Q to give Sloan the double up.

Cooler Goes in Grote's Favor

Level 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

After some raising back and forth in the blinds, Horace Ford and Christopher Grote got all the chips into the middle in a pot worth around 400,000, with Ford the player at risk.

Horace Ford: AK All in
Christopher Grote: KK

It was a cooler, and Ford needed to spike one of the three remaining aces in the deck to keep his chances of making Day 3 alive.

The dealer put out the 21055K runout to give Grote a set, ending Ford's deep run in the tournament.
