Wilhelm Survives on the River

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Sascha Wilhelm was already all in with a short stack as Jesse Lonis and Pavel Plesuv went to the turn on a board of 75K8. Lonis then bet 117,000 from the big blind, forcing Plesuv out of the pot.

"This is so painful," Wilhelm said as they waited to turn over their cards. Wilhelm eventually turned over AKQ6, while Lonis had Q1098. The river brought the 2 to give Wilhelm a flush, and he doubled up.

"There must be some mistake. Jesse, how did you lose this?" Tomasz Gluszko asked from another table.

"He's a nice guy," Wilhelm replied.
