Championship season reaches a fever pitch on June 29 as the $10,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship returns to the WSOP schedule. As Event #75 of the 2026 World Series of Poker, this three-day tournament is reserved for the absolute best in the business.
This event is widely considered the ultimate test of Seven Card Stud proficiency, with no room for error in the split-pot format. A gold bracelet and a massive prize pool await the player who can navigate this elite field at Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas.
The 2026 Championship begins at 2 p.m. on June 29, with ten levels of play on Day 1. The structure features six 40-minute levels, changing into 60-minute levels from level seven until the end of the day, allowing for maximum technical play. Late registration remains open until the end of Level 11 on Day 2, allowing for a late-stage entry for those coming off other final tables.
Day 2 resumes at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, with the field expected to reach the money before the end of the night. The final table will be held on July 1 to determine the newest world champion of Stud Hi-Lo.
The $10,000 Championship events are the most prestigious bracelets outside of the Main Event and the PPC. This specific variant requires incredible focus, as players must monitor every exposed card while simultaneously calculating high and low equities. It is a true "specialist" event that routinely crowns a world-class winner.
Last year, Qinghai Pan captured his third career bracelet and a career-best $411,051 in this event. Known for his technical prowess, Pan outlasted a field of 186 entries. His victory further cemented his reputation as one of the most dangerous players in the Stud rotation, adding to his growing list of live and online WSOP titles.
