Leonard Battles Brunson; Schreiber Does What Calling Stations Do
Stud Games: 2,000 Ante, 3,000 Bring-In, 10,000 Completion, 10,000-20,000 Limits
Pot-Limit & No-Limit: 5,000/8,000 Ante, 3,000-5,000 Blinds
2-7 Triple Draw
Heads up to the first draw, Patrick Leonard drew two cards under the gun, and Todd Brunson took one card in the hijack. Leonard then check-called a bet by Brunson before the same number of cards was taken on the second draw.
Leonard checked again, and Brunson bet. Leonard called to the final draw, where the duo took one card each. Brunson completed his triple-barrel after Leonard checked, receiving a fold for his efforts.
No-Limit Hold'em
Simultaneously, at another table, big blind Jerry Wong pushed all in on a completed board of 8♥K♦J♣4♦6♥. Hijack Matthew Schreiber had been put at risk for his stack of 75,000, which he called off after some thought.
Wong showed a rivered pair with 7♠6♣, but it was not enough as Schreiber tabled K♣9♥ for top pair, doubling his 75,000 as well as taking the 110,000 in the middle.
"Don't they know I'm a calling station, Racener?" Schreiber asked John Racener, also present at the table, while he dragged the chips.
