Lisawad announced he had a queen, but quickly mucked his cards when Hanley tabled A♥K♥K♣6♥ for a better pair.

Three-ways to a Q♠J♠2♦ flop, with roughly 70,000 in the pot, Peter Cross checked in the big blind. Kazuhiro Shirasawa then moved all in from under the gun for 68,000, which got a fold from Jacob Nepom in the hijack before Cross called.

Soverel tabled A♣A♠9♠8♦ for aces full of eights and he took down the pot.

Erik Seidel limped in under the gun, and Chenxiang Miao raised to 33,000 on the button. The action returned to Seidel, who three-bet to 114,000, and Miao called.
Seidel slid 100,000 into the pot on a 5♣3♣2♣ flop, and Miao instantly moved all in.
"I guess I'm dead", Seidel said as he called.

As it happened, Seidel wasn't dead; he was actually ahead with his flopped straight.
The Q♦ turn and 9♦ river completed the board, and Miao, left unimproved, was eliminated.

Erik Seidel called in first position and Bob Mather raised to 26,000 in the hijack to see action fold back around to Seidel who moved all in for 62,000 effective. Mather called.

"I'm sorry about this Erik," said Mather as he stood out of his chair prior to the flop being dealt.
Turns out, Mather did have something to apologize for as the board ran out K♠7♥7♦8♥9♦ to see Mather make kings full and double through the ten-time WSOP bracelet winner.
