"Wow, The Tournament Should Have Been Over"

Level 36 : Blinds 400,000/800,000, 800,000 ante
Darren Rabinowitz
Darren Rabinowitz

Phil Hellmuth called from the button, and Darren Rabinowitz checked in the big blind.

Both players checked the KJ7 flop before the 6 landed on the turn. Rabinowitz led out for 800,000, and Hellmuth raised to 3,000,000. Rabinowitz quickly folded.

A hand later, encouraged by Martin Kabrhel to "take a snack," Hellmuth finally tucked into the half-eaten Subway sandwich that had been sitting beside him for much of the heads-up match. In true Hellmuth fashion, he somehow started eating it from the inside out.

Still chewing his ham sub, Hellmuth checked his option after Rabinowitz completed on the button.

Hellmuth check-called a bet of 1,000,000 from Rabinowitz on the KJ6 flop.

The 5 turn checked through, as did the 2 river. Hellmuth tabled K5 for two pair to win the pot, while Rabinowitz showed Jx6x for the inferior two pair before saying, "Wow, the tournament should have been over."

With a huge crowd gathered around the feature table, Martin Kabrhel had become Hellmuth's number one fan on the rail, offering constant words of encouragement while also acting as a human calculator by informing Hellmuth of Rabinowitz's exact chip count at the end of every hand.
