Ian Johns Doubles Through Wayne LaMonica

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Razz

A preflop raising war led to Ian Johns being all in and at risk against Wayne LaMonica.

Johns: {A-}{6-}{5-}{6-}{8-}{10-}{J-}
LaMonica: {8-}{7-}{2-}{A-}{10-}{A-}{A-}

Johns and LaMonica both made 10-8 lows, but John's 10-8-6 was better and he earned a full double-up.

"Well, I tried," LaMonica said after the hand. "What can I do with three aces?"

"You would've won the high," David Singer joked.

Omaha Hi-Lo

Wayne Lamonica opened with a raise. He was called in two spots by David Singer and Ian Johns.

On the {K-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop, LaMonica checked. Singer bet and both Johns and Lamonica called.

On the {8-Clubs} turn, LaMonica bet and only Singer called. On the {A-Spades} river LaMonica bet again and Singer called once more. LaMonica showed {8-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for trip eights, but Singer had made a flush with {Q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and he scooped the pot.

Meanwhile, on the other table, James Richburg was eliminated in a hand of Omaha Hi-Lo in unknown action, sending him to the rail in 15th place.

Omaha Hi-Lo

Jon Seaman raised on the button and Esther Taylor called from the small blind.

On the {A-}{K-}{8-} flop Taylor check-called, then check-raised Seaman all in on the turn and the latter called.

Taylor showed {A-}{A-}{9-}{7-} and had Seaman who had {K-}{K-}{J-}{7-} in brutal shape since he had no low draw. Seaman could survive with only one of the two remaining kings on the river but he didn't hit and was eliminated.
