Haag Plays Half-A-Milly

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Michael Haag
Michael Haag

John Richards was in the hijack and he placed in a good old triple raise, making it 12,000 to go. Michael Haag flatted from the big blind and the hand progressed to the {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} flop.

Haag let his opponent continue for 15,000 and then check-raised to 32,000. Richards matched the price.

The {2-Diamonds} landed on the turn and Haag fired another 38,000. Richards called again.

Another diamond arrived on the river as the {J-Diamonds} completed the board. Both players tapped and Haag announced a jack. He turned over {J-Clubs}{9-Spades} and that was enough to scoop a large pot to vault up to 530,000.

Matheson Coolers Yuhas

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Royce Matheson was on the button and he kicked off the action with a raise to 8,500. Small blind Shaan Yuhas three-bet to 18,500 and after Justin Bonomo folded from the big blind, action returned to Matheson who slid forward a pile of the most valuable chips to put his opponent all in. Yuhas was ready to go.

Shaan Yuhas: {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Royce Matheson: {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

Unfortunately for Yuhas, his pocket jacks were dominated by a higher pair. The board came {9-Spades}{K-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{4-Hearts} to end Yuhas' hopes for a miracle as he joined today's scratches.

Matheson is now among the those who have crossed 400,000 in chips.

Mikhail Semin Wins a Big One

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

We got to the table to see Mikhail Semin, in the big blind, and Jeremy Ausmus, in mid-position both involved in the hand. On the board, we could already see {Q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{9-Clubs}.

Semin checked, Ausmus opened to 10,000, Semin re-raised to 25,000 and Ausmus went all-in. Ausmus had Semin covered but Semin snap-called.

Semin showed {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts} but Ausmus showed the {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for two pair.

The turn turned the {3-Clubs} and the river completed the board with the {3-Hearts} to give Semin the higher two pair and the pot.

Zedo Takes Some from Lewis

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

With action on the {9-Hearts}{A-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop, big blind Toby Lewis check-raised to 26,500 over Corey Zedo's 8,500 bet from the cutoff. Zedo wasn't ready to give up his hand and paid the extra chips to continue towards the next street.

The turn saw the {K-Spades} hit the felt and Lewis opted to check. Zedo cut out 24,000 for his bet and Lewis folded quickly.

Rudziankov Falls to Fast

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Artur Rudziankov was down to 16,500 and he pushed his remaining chips from the button. Dietrich Fast called from the small blind and the big blinds got out of the way.

Artur Rudziankov: {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Dietrich Fast: {K-Spades}{9-Clubs}

The board {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}{J-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} didn't get Rudziankov anything and he wished his table good luck before leaving the tournament area, following the payout staff.

Mackey Doubles Through Berkey

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Matt Berkey three-bet to 16,000 and James Mackey four-bet jammed. After Berkey got a full count, which amounted to 112,000, Berkey called.

Berkey: {q-Spades}{k-Spades}
Mackey: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

The board ran out {7-Spades}{4-Spades}{k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and though Berkey flopped a flush draw, Mackey was able to fade and score the double-up.
