"Literal Chip and a Chair" for Bach

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante
James Obst
James Obst

Pot-Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

David Bach opened for a raise in the cutoff, and James Obst made it 7,000 on the button. Bach came back with a repot, and they got it all in. Each player drew one, and Bach drew a second and third time while Obst stayed pat after his first card. Obst rolled over {8-}{7-}{5-}{3-}{2-}, and Bach showed {2-}{3-}{4-}{5-}.

"Eight or a seven," he said, sweating out his final card. It was a {9-} though.

Stacks were cut down, and Obst had 46,600. Bach had 100 more than that.

"A literal chip and a chair," Bach said with a laugh. Still, he appears to have hung on for a few minutes so far.

Hirvonen Gets Paid Twice

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

2-7 Single Draw

Mikko Hirvonen bet 15,000 after the draw from the small blind, and Brandon Cantu called. Jon Turner was considering a call and decided to splash in the chips after some thought. Hirvonen showed {8-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-}.

Cantu said he thought he heard Hirvonen say "nine-six" and added that's what he wanted to hear. Turner said he'd have liked to hear that as well.

Negreanu Scoops

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Daniel Negreanu completed and he found action from the player on his direct left.

Both players checked fourth before Negreanu bet fifth and was called. On sixth, his opponent bet out 5,000 and Negreanu called before he bet seventh street once his opponent checked.

Negreanu: {X-}{X-} / {A-Spades}{7-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} / {X-}
Opponent: {X-}{X-} / {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{6-Hearts} / {X-}

Negreanu's opponent called and tabled {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, while Negreanu announced kings-up and tabled his {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{7-Spades} to scoop the pot.

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Big O

James Obst bet 10,000 on a {j-Spades}{10-Clubs}{a-Clubs} flop from under the gun, and John Racener called on the button. On the {q-Hearts} turn, Obst check-called 19,000. On the {8-Spades} river, he checked again. Racener tanked awhile then put in 17,000. Obst took his own turn in the tank before ultimately folding.
