Day 4 of Event #23: THE MARATHON - $2,620 No-Limit Hold'em begins at 12:00 p.m. and 56 players are set to return today to the race for the first prize of $690,469.
Leading the field is world class player Faraz Jaka with 2,838,000. He is closely followed by 10-time WSOP Circuit ring winner Maurice Hawkins with 2,423,000. Hawkins has been around the top of the leaderboard every day over the past three days. In third place sits John Phan with 2,374,000. Phan, a two-time bracelet and one-time WSOP Circuit ring winner, has a total of 27 cashes in WSOP events.
When play resumes, players will play seven 100-minute levels and get a 15-minute break every level. Dinner break is 60 minutes long and scheduled for around 7:30 p.m. (after the fourth level). Play will start at Level 20 with 8,000/16,000 blinds and a 2,000 ante. The final day will play out on Friday until a champion has been crowned.

Ana Marquez, sitting in early position, raised to 35,000. Both Faraz Jaka (small blind) and Andrew Jernigan (big blind) called.
The flop came . Both Jaka and Jernigan checked, and Marquez opened to 43,000, Jaka called, then Jernigan raised to 205,000. Marquez called, and Jaka folded.
On both the turn and river, both checked. Jernigan showed for the flopped pair of jacks and eights and Marquez mucked.
Hand 2
Marquez was sitting in the under-the-gun position and raised to 35,000 and got called by Jernigan in the small blind.
The flop came , and Jernigan check-folded on the 30,000 bet of Marquez.
Hand 3
Brennan Benglis completed from the small blind. Marquez raised to 50,000 and Benglis folded.
Michael Kane, in the under-the-gun position, raised to 40,000. Both Joseph Di Rosa Rojas in middle position and Patrick Mahoney in the big blind called.
The flop came , and all three players checked. The turn was the , Mahoney opened to 83,000, Kane folded but Rojas called.
The on the river completed the board, Mahoney bet 191,000 and Rojas called again. Mahoney showed and Rojas showed for trip kings to win the pot.
Kou Vang raised to 50,000 from the cutoff and Maurice Hawkins put out a three-bet to 210,000 from the big blind. Vang moved all in for 1,400,000 and Hawkins quickly called and once again rolled over . This time, however, Hawkins was behind as Vang was holding the only hand better, .
Hawkins immediately started shouting, "King! King!" and the dealer fanned the flop of . Vang was still in the lead and the didn't change anything.
Someone on the rail yelled out "A king for the king!" and the dealer laid the on the river. Hawkins jumped out of his seat and ran around the Brasilia Room. "I hit a king!" you could hear him belting out while doing laps around the room. Vang stood up in disbelief waiting for the tournament director to hand him his payout slip.
When Hawkins returned to his seat, the dealer had pushed a mound of chips to his spot that he started stacking. "I thought he had aces but I'm never folding kings, I can't do that," he explained. The rest of the table was still in shock, and Hawkins being the jokester that he is tried to lighten the mood. "I hit a King, it kind of made my nipples hard," as he and table burst into laughter.
Jeffrey Tomlinson, in the cutoff, raised to 45,000. Thomas Lutz, in the big blind, three-bet to 170,000. Tomlinson went all in for 1,036,000 in total. Lutz took a long time to think.
"Do you want a call or fold?" Lutz asked Tomlinson.
"That's a tough question. I like what's out there," Tomlinson replied. "Win or lose, I'll still shake your hand or fist pump, whatever you want."

Jose Latorre, in middle position, raised to 52,000. Michael Kane, in the hijack, three-bet to 135,000. Josh Weiss, on the button, four-bet to 355,000. Latorre folded, but Kane went all in for around 670,000 in total. Weiss called.
Xixiang Luo, in the big blind, checked. Upeshka De Silva, in middle position, went all in for 448,000 in total. Maurice Hawkins, on the button, folded. Luo took his time to consider his options and ended up calling.
