Martin Wins Battle of Short Stacks

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

Jesse Martin raised second to act, and a player on the button repopped it. Martin called and drew two, as did his opponent. Martin check-called and drew two, and his opponent was pat. Martin checked and his opponent bet all but his last 250. Martin tanked awhile and then called. Both players patted. Martin tossed in the last 250 and got a call.

The player on the button rolled over a {9-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{2-}, but Martin had {9-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-} and took the pot, nearly doubling his own stack.

Early Success Doesn't Last for Bonomo

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 0 ante
Michael Gathy
Michael Gathy

Justin Bonomo found himself staring at a world of action in a recent pot when the small blind bet after the second draw, Bonomo raised, and a player on the button reraised. Bonomo had just 1,625 remaining and found a fold after some thought.

He got the rest of it in just after that, and a multi-way pot materialized that had Michael Gathy leading the action on the side pot and eventually showing down {8-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{2-}. That was enough to beat Bonomo, who took his leave.

No. 1 for Urbanovich

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

Dzmitry Urbanovich raised from the hijack and Larry Wright called from the cutoff.

Urbanovich drew two, Wright drew one and both players checked.

Urbanovich drew one, Wright stood pat, and both checked again.

The draw action stayed the same on the final draw and Urbanovich bet. Wright called and Urbanovich tabled {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}.

"Darn!" said Wright. "Seven-six."

"No way," said another player at the table.

"Seven-six," reitierated Wright.

"$20 if you show a seven-six," said the player in seat 5.

"Make it $100," said Wright.

"Nah," said seat 5.

Wright mucked his hand with a smile.

Bojang Barely Good

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

Ismael Bojang bet from the big blind in a bloated pot on the end, and a player on the button called. The small blind came in with a check-raise, and Bojang splashed in an immediate call. The third player folded, and the small blind rolled over {7-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-}. Bojang could beat that, albeit barely, with {7-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-}.

At the same table, Shaun Deeb has pumped up his stack north of 50,000.
