Misread for Israelashvili, But He Wins Anyway

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

"You really want to know?" Roland Israelashvili asked his beleaguered opponents as he prepared to bust yet another foe. "Here."

He turned over his cards after patting on the end as the all-in player drew a final card: {7-}{5-}{3-}{2-}{2-}.

It took Israelashvili a moment before realizing in horror that he had a pair and not a wheel.

"I misread my hand!" he exclaimed.

His opponent, who had broken a queen-low, peeked at his card and found another queen, so Israelashvili won the pot anyway, much to the amusement of his tablemates.

Negreanu Doubles Through Turner Again

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 0 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu raised from the hijack, and Jon Turner called from the small blind.

Turner drew two, Negreanu drew one, and Turner check-called a bet.

Both drew one on the second draw, Turner checked, Negreanu bet his remaining 950, and Turner called.

Turner drew one, and Negreanu stood pat with {J-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{2-}. Turner showed the same {6-}{5-}{3-}{2-} as earlier but, again, failed to improve.

Ian Johns

Ian Johns was in the big blind and check-called a bet from a cutoff opponent before the second draw. Johns took two and his opponent one, and he check-called another bet. Both players drew one and Johns bet. His opponent called, and Johns rolled over {j-}{7-}{5-}{3-}{2-}.

"It's good," his opponent said with a sigh. "I broke a better jack."

Bolden Doubles

Level 6 : 400/800, 0 ante

Gary Bolden took three in a blinds battle, and the big blind took one on the first draw. Bolden check-raised, then put a fourth bet in, and both players drew one. Bolden put in his last 250 chips, and his opponent called to put him at risk. They drew again and each rolled over their cards.

Bolden: {2-}{3-}{4-}{5-}
Opponent: {7-}{4-}{2-}{6-}

Bolden turned over a {9-}, making him a solid favorite to survive. His opponent paired his seven, so Bolden doubled.
