David Bach Enjoys Fruitful Limit Hold'em Round

Level 23 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Hold'em

On a {3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} board, David Bach bet and Yuebin Guo called. The river was the {k-Spades} and Bach bet again, and this time he was all in. Guo called.

Bach showed {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and Guo showed {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} before mucking.

Still in the hold'em round, Bach raised and Andrew Brown defended his big blind. Brown check-called a bet on {4-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}. The turn was the {a-Diamonds} and Brown check-raised and Bach called.

The river was the {9-Clubs} and Bach bet again. Brown called but was displeased to see the {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} of his opponent.

"I knew you weren't messing around," said Bach as Brown showed him {a-}{q-} before mucking.

Brian Rast Eliminated in 11th Place ($23,508)

Level 23 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Brian Rast - 11th place
Brian Rast - 11th place

Stud

Brian Rast completed and Daniel Negreanu raised. Rast called and on fourth he called a bet from Negreanu.

Fifth street saw Negreanu lead out for 50,000 before Rast raised to 100,000. Negreanu called and, on sixth, he lead for 50,000 before Rast raised to 100,000.

Negreanu announced a raise and Rast committed roughly his final 40,000.

Rast: {Q-Hearts}{2-Spades} / {Q-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts}{J-Spades}
Negreanu: {Q-Clubs}{9-Spades} / {K-Spades}{2-Clubs}{10-Spades}{J-Clubs}

With Negreanu striking a straight on sixth street, Rast would still be very much alive as any queen, deuce, or spade would see him remain alive in the tournament.

Unfortunately for Rast, he squeezed the {9-Clubs} on seventh to go along with Negreanu's {6-Diamonds}, and was eliminated in 11th place for a $23,508 payday as Negreanu returns to approximately 1.1 million in chips.

Stud

Eric Rodawig recalled how he eliminated Scott Bohlman in 12th place.

Bohlman completed with a {j-} showing. Daniel Negreanu raised holding a {4-}. Rodawig three-bet with a {9-}. Bohlman called. Negreanu folded.

Bohlman caught a {5-} on fourth and bet. Rodawig raised. Bohlman then committed the last of his chips and was all in.

Rodawig had {9-}{3-} in the hole and was leading with his higher pair against Bohlman who showed {a-}{5-}.

Rodawig's cards ran out improving him to a full house ultimately sending Bohlman home.

Rodawig: {9-}{3-} / {9-}{x-}{x-}{x-} / {x-}
Bohlman: {a-}{5-} / {j-}{5-}{x-}{x-} / {x-}

On sixth, Rodawig bet. Negreanu apologized to the table for taking his time, before eventually folding his hand.

"I'm just going to fold," said Negreanu, as he watched Rodawig rake in the pot.

Negreanu: {x-}{x-} / {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts} (folded on sixth)

Deuces Full for Mercier

Level 23 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Catching the action on fourth street, Jason Mercier bet out and Andrew Brown folded. David Bach called and, on fifth street, Mercier bet again only to have Bach raise to 100,000.

On sixth street, Mercier checked and Bach bet out 50,000 with Mercier calling.

Mercier: {X-}{X-} / {2-Spades}{A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{J-Hearts} / {X-}
Bach: {X-}{X-} / {10-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{7-Spades}{8-Hearts} / {X-}

On seventh, Mercier led out for 50,000 and Bach called.

Mercier revealed his {A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs} for a full house as Bach showed his {Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{10-Spades} for trips and dropped down to 250,000 in chips.
