Urbanovich in the Danger Zone

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Dzmitry Urbanovich raised from the button and was reraised by [Removed:412]. Urbanovich called.

On the first draw, Kruk took one, and Urbanovich took two. Kruk bet, and Urbanovich called. On the next draw, Kruk took one again, while Urbanovich took two again. Kruk bet once more, and Urbanovich released his hand.

After that pot, Urbanovich was left with just over 4,000 chips.

Kruk Makes a Correct Call With a Pair

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

[Removed:412] had already gone deep in the $1,500 8-Game Event, and he's kicked off his $10,000 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw campaign well, too.

Kruk is now sitting on roughly 150,000. He added a few bets after making a gutsy call against Ismael Bojang, who bet in position after the third draw. Kruk called, and Bojang revealed his busted hand, showing {7-}{7-}. Kruk didn't have a good hand either, as his deuces paired up, but his {5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}{2-} was still a winner.

Renowned for his no-limit hold'em accolades from the online realm, Kruk is proving his knowledge in the live mixed games, too.

Anthony Zinno Enters the Lowball

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

If one would expect Daniel Negreanu and Jason Mercier in the field, it might be a legitimate guess. Negreanu and Mercier would probably be battling in the Lowball, but they're sitting just a few yards away on the stage. They're busy playing on the $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship final table.

Anthony Zinno was there too, but his run ended in ninth place, good for $28,808. Zinno didn't take a long rest before entering the Lowball, trying to make another final table.

Barlow Gets a Near-Double Through Baker

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

James Barlow raised and was called by David Baker from the big blind. Both players took two on the first draw.

Baker bet, was raised by Barlow, and called. On the second draw, Baker took one, while Barlow stood pat.

Baker checked, then called a bet from Barlow. Barlow's bet left him with just over 1,000 behind.

On the third draw, Baker took one again. Barlow stood pat, then both players checked it down. Barlow showed {9-}{7-}{6-}{3-}{2-}, and that was strong enough to get a muck out of Baker, getting him a near-double.

Matusow Loses One, Wins the Next Two

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Mike Matusow was down to 56,100 after losing a hand described below:

Matusow raised and called Matthew Szymaszek's three-bet from the small blind. Szymaszek drew one, and Matusow drew two.

Szymaszek went bet-bet-bet on the following streets, patting from the second draw. Matusow called every bet, drawing one in the last two rounds.

Szymaszek showed {8-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{3-}, and Matusow mucked.

However, Matusow stopped his bleeding right away. He won the next two pots, climbing back to 80,000.

Yu Gets There

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

[Removed:412] raised on the button and was called by Mike Gorodinsky, in the small blind, and Ben Yu, in the big blind. Gorodinsky took three, Yu took two, and Kruk took one. Both blinds checked over to Kruk, and he bet. This time, only Yu came along.

Yu took two on the second draw, while Kruk stood pat. Yu checked, and Kruk bet, then Yu called.

On the final draw, Yu took one card, and Kruk stood pat again. After looking at his card, Yu led out with a bet, then Kruk called. Yu showed {8-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}.

"What is that?" Kruk asked, squinting over at the cards. "Eight-natural? You're good."

Kruk mucked his hand, and Yu took down the pot. Yu has just recently joined the tournament but has quickly jumped above the starting stack and will look to keep climbing here on Day 1.

Zalewski Falls to Gathy

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Hertzel Zalewski just became the latest casualty in the $10,000 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw.

Zalewski was all in after the second draw, facing Georgii Belianin and Michael Gathy. Zalewski and Belianin drew one apiece, and Gathy stood pat.

Belianin and Gathy ceased fire on the last draw, and the cards were shown.

Gathy quickly tabled his patted {9-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{2-}, and Belianin's hand remained unclear as he couldn't beat it. Zalewski had four to a wheel, holding {2-}{3-}{4-}{5-}. He needed to spike a seven, eight or nine to triple up, but he received a {J-} instead. That was the last card he'd have delivered, as he left the tournament empty-handed.
