No Sweat for Matusow

Level 24 : 30,000/60,000, 7,000 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

Mike Matusow was all in for his last 81,000. Two players tried to finally send Matusow to the rail, but Matusow remained relentless.

Brendan Taylor and Tom Koral battled for the side pot, both sitting in the blinds. Koral was in position, and he bet on all streets of the {4-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs} board, earning a check-call from Taylor on each occasion.

Koral announced he had a full house and no low, showing his {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. Taylor turned up {A-Spades}{2-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} for the nut low, and it looked that Matusow was in trouble.

"I'll take a half of that beautiful pot," Matusow assured everyone about his future in the tournament. He showed {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} for eights full, and his grind continues.

"Once again, I'm all in and I don't sweat," Matusow said. Then he started singing: "All I need is a miracle..."

Matusow Dangerously Short Again

Level 24 : 30,000/60,000, 7,000 ante

Hold'em

Tom Koral raised on the button, and Mike Matusow defended his big blind. Matusow check-called a bet from Koral on the {6-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop. Both players checked the {7-Hearts} on the turn.

On the {2-Hearts} river, Matusow bet and Koral spent two minutes in the tank before sliding in a call. Matusow waved the white flag and mucked his hand, and Koral showed {Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts} for a jack-high flush and scooped up the pot. "The Mouth" has less than two big bets now.

Alex Livingston Eliminated in 13th Place ($10,248)

Level 23 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Alex Livingston
Alex Livingston

Stud Hi-Lo

Alex Livingston tangled with Ryan Hughes in a pot that would eventually become Livingston's last in the tournament. Livingston completed with the {A-Spades} and Hughes raised it up with the {8-Hearts} lying in front of him. Livingston called and then led out on fourth street. Hughes called and third heart hit his board on fifth. Hughes bet and then called Livingston's all in worth 71,000 total. Livingston saw devastating showdown.

Alex Livingston: {10-Spades}{3-Spades} / {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Ryan Hughes: {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts} / {8-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{A-Hearts}

Livingston was drawing for a flush while Hughes already had one, ace-jack high. That reduced Livingston's outs to just the figure spades. Livingston could still hope for a runner-runner low or a boat, and the {2-Diamonds} on sixth street indeed improved his chances for a full house.

Livingston eventually made his flush, but the {7-Spades} on the river wasn't high enough to top Hughes' made hand.

Following Livingston's exit, Mike Matosow moved to Table 700 in order to keep the tables balanced.

"You Gotta Know Who Was Gonna Double You!"

Level 23 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Mike Matusow
Mike Matusow

It's been a one-man show in the $3k H.O.R.S.E., and the show will carry on. Mike Matusow just doubled up.

Limit Hold'em

Matusow was in the big blind, and he called a raise from Matthew Schreiber. Matusow then check-raised on the {7-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop, earning a call. The {Q-Clubs} hit the queen and Matusow bet again. Schreiber asked how much Matusow had behind, and it was 39,000. He moved all in, and Matusow called off.

Schreiber showed {Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for turned top pair, but Matusow had the goods. "That's behind, my friend," he informed Schreiber, rolling over his {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}.

The river {6-Clubs} didn't hurt "The Mouth," securing the double for the four-time bracelet winner.

"I know Matt was gonna double me! You gotta know who was gonna double you! If I win one more pot, y'all can't win!"

Matusow demonstrated his boxing moves, fighting with the air. "I got the maximum from Matt," he sang. "I got the fuuuuull double-up. Not just three-quarters!"

Matusow then finished his speech: "Make poker fun again, boys!"

If anyone tries to make poker fun again, it's undoubtedly Mike Matusow.

"I've Got A Feeling"

Level 23 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Valentin Vornicu & Mike Matusow
Valentin Vornicu & Mike Matusow

Stud Hi-Lo

Chop: {X-}{X-} / {8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{3-Clubs} / {X-}
Vornicu: {X-}{X-} / {2-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} — Folded
Matusow: {X-}{X-} / {2-Hearts}{J-Spades}{A-Spades}{8-Hearts} / {X-}

Valentin Vornicu brought it in with the {2-Diamonds}, Mike Matusow completed with the {2-Hearts}, Dmitry Chop called with the {8-Spades}, and Vornicu called, as well. Matusow caught bad on fourth street and checked. Chop bet, and Vornicu called, bringing the action to "The Mouth." The four-time WSOP bracelet winner squirmed in his seat and gave it 20 seconds of thought before flicking in a T25,000 chip.

"I've got a feeling," Matusow said softly.

The feeling turned out to be correct, as Matusow caught the {A-Spades} on fifth street.

"I've got a feeling I'm gonna triple up right now!" Matusow sang loudly.

With the betting lead, Matusow bet, and both Chop and Vornicu called. Matusow shoved 31,000 total on sixth street, Chop raised to 81,000, and Vornicu reluctantly gave up his hand.

Matusow showed {A-Diamonds}{7-Spades} for a pair of aces, and Chop tabled {A-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for an eighty-five low. Chop was looking for a deuce to scoop the pot but rivered the {6-Spades} instead. Matusow received the {7-Diamonds}, and they chopped up the pot.

"Told you I had a feeling," Matusow told his neighbor afterwards.

Chop Chopped by Matusow and Vornicu

Level 23 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

"They can take me down but they can't take me out!" Mike Matusow shouted after adding some chips to his short stack. Matusow was all in on fifth with Valentin Vornicu and Dmitry Chop checking the rest of the way.

Matusow: {X-}{X-} / {2-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{4-Clubs}{6-Hearts} / {X-}
Vornicu: {X-}{X-} / {9-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{10-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} / {X-}
Chop: {X-}{X-} / {2-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades}{Q-Clubs} / {X-}

Matusow rolled over his {A-Spades}{8-Spades}{K-Diamonds} for eight-low while Vornicu's {6-}{8-}{9-} was good for the high half of the pot. Chop's hand went to the muck.

Alex Livingston Doubles With Broadway

Level 23 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

Alex Livingston raised from under the gun but small blind Tom Koral woke up with a three-bet. Livingston called, and called again on the {10-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop.

The turn was the {Q-Clubs} and Koral bet out again, covering all Livingston's remaining chips. Livingston had no problem calling, holding the nuts.

Livingston: {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{J-Spades}{2-Hearts}
Koral: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

Livingston turned a Broadway straight but he still needed to avoid any diamond on the river. Koral, however, missed his flush draw as the {7-Clubs} landed on the river. Koral's cracked aces cost him 139,000.
