Madsen Flops Straight and Gets Full Double

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Jeff Madsen
Jeff Madsen

Joining the action on the {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop, Jeff Madsen bet 44,000, and Michael Kamran called. On the {2-Hearts} turn, Madsen bet the pot for 178,000 with 43,000 behind, and Kamran called. Kamran also called the shove of Madsen on the {6-Clubs} river.

Madsen turned over {Q-Spades}{J-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts}, and Kamran tapped the table with the words, "That's good." Since it was an all-in showdown, he was obliged to show his cards and very briefly flashed {A-Spades}{J-Spades}{7-Clubs}{X-} for two pair.

Boyko Keeps Promise

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Yuriy Boyko mentioned not long ago that he would be getting his stack in, and the Irishman kept his promise. According to Boyko, Yan Shing Tsang looked him up with {8-}{7-}{5-}{4-} and flopped two pair on a {Q-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Hearts}. Boyko was suddenly behind with {A-}{A-}{7-}{3-}, but the {Q-Hearts} turn and {3-Clubs} river gave him the better two pair.

Perry Crushed by Nguyen

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

On a flop of {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}, Ralph Perry check-raised out of the big blind from 25,000 to 68,000, and The Nguyen, the initial raiser, called from early position.

The {J-Spades} fell on the turn, and Perry moved all in with {9-}{8-}{6-}{4-} for trips sixes. Nguyen quickly called with {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}{J-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a full house, sixes over jacks, leaving Perry drawing dead even before the {7-Spades} river completed the board.

The wall of chips in front of Nguyen spans almost two seats, and he is one of the chip leaders with just over 50 players remaining.

Fonseca Busts to Saliba

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

A four-way limped pot saw a flop of {J-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} emerge, and Vivian Saliba bet 40,000. Alberto Fonseca raised the pot, and Saliba moved all in. Fonseca called, and he was the player at risk.

Alberto Fonseca: {K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Vivian Saliba: {J-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}

The {K-Spades} on the turn gave Fonseca the lead, but he needed to dodge many outs in order to avoid elimination. As the final card, the {4-Spades} appeared on the river, and that improved Saliba to a flush to eliminate Fonseca.

Madsen Loses a Big One

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

On a flop of {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades}, a flurry of raises resulted in two players being at risk. Jeff Madsen had Christopher Frank and Sean Rafael covered but needed help in order to avoid a big setback to his stack.

Christopher Frank: {A-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}
Sean Rafael: {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}
Jeff Madsen: {K-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}

The {6-Diamonds} turn and {7-Spades} river completed the board, and the stacks were counted. Frank was all in for 327,000 post-flop and Rafael for 339,000. They chopped the main pot, taking a big portion of Madsen's stack, and Rafael chipped up some more thereafter to further build his stack.

Davies Eliminated and Hoellein Triples Up

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

With about 100,000 in the pot, three players had all their chips in the middle, and the board read {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}.

Jon Hoellein was in the big blind and tabled {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} with 86,000 all in. Michael Kamran was in middle position and showed {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, having both players covered. Scott Davies was in late position and held {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, having 98,000 all in.

The turn and river were the {4-Spades} and the {7-Hearts}, essentially changing nothing. Hoellein took down the main pot with his Broadway straight, and Kamran won the 24,000-chip side pot with Davies with a set of queens.
