Helppi Makes a Big Call Near the Bubble
The money bubble is just two eliminations away, and a big pot was brewing on table 719 just before the dinner break.
With about 100,000 in the middle, on a board reading 
, Jack Salter checked from the big blind and Juha Helppi bet 52,000 from the cutoff. Salter paused for a minute before moving all in, having Helppi covered by a lot. Helppi had 226,000 total, and had a big decision to make with the money bubble looming.
Helppi went into the tank for several minutes, clearly agonized by the decision. A crowd started to form as players headed on a dinner break. Salter remained still the entire time until Helppi finally called.
Salter gave Helppi a thumbs up and rapped the table, showing 
for two pair eights and fives. Helppi tabled 
for a straight to the eight and raked in the massive pot.
Salter asked, "If I made it 150,000 would you have folded?" Helppi replied, "It would've been much easier to fold if you made it 150,000."
